View Full Version : The Giants make the gods cry
WTF?!
The New York Giants weren't on local TV today, so I was following the game on the NFL's website. At the end of the third quarter, the Giants were ahead of Tennessee, 21 to zero. Zip. Nada.
All right, this one's in the bag, I thought... no need to follow it anymore. The Giants would pretty much have to get on the bus and go home early to lose this one.
And then a few minutes ago, I checked the website again just to see how bad the carnage was and found out...
... the Giants LOST, 24 to 21?

Unfortunately, I saw the whole thing, and it was awful, awful, awful. I can't remember the last time I've seen a team do so much to give a game away.
Bad game by Manning, a horrendous 4th quarter from Tiki Barber, the most moronic, bone-headed penalties, Kiwanuka giving up on a sack for reasons I still can't comprehend, just terrible.
Thankfully no team in the NFC looks all that great, so we've still got a shot.

I was rooting for Tennessee thew whole time.
Personally, I think Eli Manning doesn't have what it takes to play consistently enough to get anywhere beyond the playoffs. The hype around Eli annoys me. I'm so glad some people are beginning to see behind the smoke and mirrors with this one.
It doesn't help that the Giants are banged up right now.
AND
I'm a Dallas fan. NFC East current division leaders!!! :super:

I don't know who the hell chooses what football teams are on tv, but they suck. I live maybe 30 minutes west of Philly. When the Eagles are on, nothing else is. Who cares about the Eagles? They suck! They don't even play the Steelers on a different channel if the Eagles are on. Or the Jets, or the Giants. I want to watch my Jets and I can't because of the stupid Eagles. Back home, there is always football on ESPN and CBS/FOX. Not so here. Only one game at a time. What crap!

I think it was Fox's doubleheader week. Where I Live I had the Bengals game on CBS at 1 there may have been a game on FOX at 1 too but I didnt look I know they showed Patriots- beas at 4 on my local FOX channel. How Close are you to Philly. If you live within a certain radius and the Eagles are playing at home Its an NFL rule that no other game can be on at the same time as the Eagles game.
how bout this, the ravens vs the falcons didnt get shown where i live
now the ravens vs the bengals part 2 isnt being shown where i live yet again
i live in maryland!!!!
btw, sorry irateguy, but your teams going down!!

how close are you to Baltimore. The games on the NFL Network but They have to make it available on free TV to Cincinnati ( CH 5 -NBC will have it here) and Baltimore. I also think the outcome Thursday will be different . I think the Bengals wouldve won the last game if they hadnt dug themselves a 14-0 hole in the first 5 min.
I'm in frederick so i get washington stations
When im not at college i get baltimore stations.. its sad that i dont here..
I think it will be a good game but the Ravens are on a roll!
I mean, 27-0 against the steelers! who havent been shutout since 2000 when we did this thing called winning the super bowl ;)

i have something for school at that time anyways
it seems i do get it so i'll tape it
im really surprised, almost all if not all the other stations are washington, redskins are all the news channels talk about haha
it should be a good game regardless of who wins, just a little friendly banter

Generally how things work with televising football games is that if the local teams home game is sold out then that game could be broadcast locally if not then you get to watch another because God-forbid the owners don't every last nickle out of fans they can.
I've pretty much given up on all professional sports. It costs way way way too much to go to a game. I can't bring myself to pay $70+ a ticket plus parking, plus snacks and Lord knows what else. By the time you come and gone you're lucky to get away for less than $200 a person. And my biggest gripe is when millonaires go on strike, that's when I tune out.
I used to have season tickets to the local university's football/basketball/baseball teams but that turned into an extortion racket so I quit and I don't even watch on TV. I used to take my oldest daughter to said universities women's softball games but the conversation from the other fans came to be so obscene that I didn't want her to be around such folks (and it wasn't men's conversations I objected to). Now that said daughter attends that university she can get free student tickets but doesn't because of the obnoxious fans (especially the ones that never attended said university).
I don't put pressure on my kids to play team sports, there's too much pressure on them from other kids parents for it to be fun. Right now both my sons shoot on the local Scholastic Clay Target team with one shooting trap and the other skeet. Next year my youngest daughter has announced that she's also going to shoot on the elementary trap team.
