How do you deal with people who- 99% of the time are pleasant to be around, Most of the time, you enjoy their company. Then they do something....

Like- their child is aggressive, or they don't treat animals as well as you do. (We treat our cats like members of the family, and we have some acquaintances who view them as just below furniture status.

I've already done the glare- which has had amazing results as far as the kids go. But, I have a hard time being friends with people who don't give their pets any attention, or their cat starts acting up and they just get rid of it. Unless they change, I just don't want to associate with them, and I don't want them to have a negative affect on my daughter.

Any input or personal experiences on this are oh so welcome.

I completely agree with you. I could not be friends with people like that. Obviously if their child is aggressive you don't want your child to either be the victim or become mean also.

You definately don't want your child to start thinking it's okay to be mean to your pets and I certainly wouldn't put up with anyone else's child being mean to mine. Probably best to lose their phone number now... there are plenty of other people to be friends with.
