Figure it can't hurt to ask around here - there's such a diverse group on these boards...
In October 2007, we're holding a multi-media convention in Kansas City Daranacon (http://www.daranacon.org). What I'm looking for is suggestions for who to invite as a guest (keeping in mind that we're a new convention and budgeting is a bit tricky right now).
We do want a celebrity chef. Alton Brown wanted, well - what amounts to a year's salary for some people. Duff Goldman, whom I adore and who is making a cake for me next week, is probably not available because of his shooting schedule. Bah.
We have a belly dancer to do classes and entertain at the banquet.
We're in negotiations with the author of The Last Unicorn, Peter S. Beagle.
But who would YOU like to see at a con?
