What is a "moderated poster"?

That means the person's posts have to be approved by a mod/admin before they can be seen by the rest of the board.

The first few posts made by all new members are moderated. The system automatically promotes people to regular members once they have achieved a certain threshhold of posts and other criteria.
So far, this system (Ree's brainchild, MadMike's work) has stopped two spammers promoting their wares, a fair number of dubious posts, and one cyberstalker. It's an excellent defence against trolls, and with the numbers of moderators on the team, we've not had any posts waiting for more than a couple of hours or so, from what I've seen.
I get too many offers of little blue pills in my inbox to see them on here...

Further proof that CS mods are the best mods on the net! :salute: :yourock:

Afraid not. I don't want adverts on here, though I'll have to put some on to do the T-shirt thing.
On the other forum I run, we don't have this software, so I can't do the moderation thing. However, the rules there are rather slacker and the members usually have a great supply of insults for spammers - often used before I turn up. I leave a few threads up for them to feed on...
