Please tell me if you think this is a concise enough letter to explain my problems at this house:

Dear Sakura House;

I have lived in the Nakaitabashi guest house for about 8 or 9 months now. I'm sure Sakura House has become aware of cleanliness problems in the public area.

I would like to make clear that I have made every personal attempt to keep the public area clean. On three separate occasions, I have personally cleaned the public area and kitchen, despite the fact that I no longer use the public areas, except for cooking. On the last occasion, I cleaned up on the night of November 20th, the day before the "special maintenance" crew arrived. Each time, it takes me about an hour to keep the room clean.

I have discussed this problem with some of the other tenants on the first floor, and they have either given up trying to keep the area clean, or they believe that the cleaning crew that comes every couple of weeks will clean it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the cleaning crew is responsible for only basic house cleaning, including cleaning the sinks and showers, and vacuuming floors. I do not believe that the cleaning crew is a replacement for our mother. However, some tenants expect the cleaning crew to do cleaning such as washing dishes, throwing away trash, and taking out bottles that are left in the public area.

I apologize greatly for our house's tenants' conduct. I cannot understand why they have become so lazy. I am also no longer willing to clean up their mess. I am not contributing to this situation, and I do not wish to fix it every time. It is an exhausting endeavor.

I believe the residents need to be told, in clear terms, what their responsibilities are to this house. I wish for this house to be clean, in the same way that Sakura House does, but I no longer wish to be responsible for a few very messy individuals.

In closing, I am very sorry for the trouble that our house has caused your company.

Sincerely,
Cedric Wienold

This is good. You've plainly explained the problem, you are polite, and you have suggested a possible solution. Very nice.
