So here at work we are cleaning out an old storage closet that hasn't been touched in God knows how long. It's almost like excavating King Tut's tomb. Here's some of the interesting stuff we've found so far:

An 8 track player and cassettes (still in working condition! Who's up for the Captain and Taneal?)
A floor buffer that's been MIA since 2004.
A 1950s barber chair

...and we're barely halfway done. Who knows what kind of things we've yet to unearth? Hopefully no dead mice, like my boss found when he cleaned out the trunk of his car!

Oh, where to begin....

various socks that were MIA
jewelry
puzzle pieces
cat treats
barrettes, combs, brushes
money
pair of shorts
ear plugs
tweezers
makeup

I found a few of those when ripping out the MGB's interior a few years back. Since the car had been sitting in a field for a few years ('92 to '95), it wasn't too surprising. Apparently, crumbling upholstery, along with wiring is a real treat for a mouse. Nearly every wire had some chew marks on it!

Cleaning? Try packing the house up for an international move:
-Socks
-Polaroid camera
-Walkmans
-My original tax file number form - I think the tax office got sick of me always calling and asking for it whenever I got a new job :o
-Harrods handbag, which I'd been looking everywhere for
-My favourite pair of knickers (the ones with the lollipops!)

It was a downright paleontological experience when we moved Mom out of the house we'd had for 30 years. We did find a few dead mice down in some of the storage areas that before we attacked just had a thin little trail through the junk. After we were done, it was pretty amazing just how massive that house really was. I never knew.
Anyhoo, she yelled at me for throwing out a dead plant (apparently I should have shaken the potting soil out onto the flower bed), because I was "throwing away perfectly good dirt". In her defense, she was overwrought at that point because we were hauling huge amounts of stuff to the dump. One 12'x 16' room produced about 3 truck/trailer loads.
Elderly electronics from the days when my dad was a tv/CAT scan repairman, over her protestations that he really was gonna fix all of it. Um, Mom, he's getting rather senile, and it's been sitting for about 10 years, he's not gonna fix it now.
Food that I recall from when I was in grade school (I was a senior in college at this point)
Food that my 40 year old sisters recalled canning. How do you say....Botulism?
There was cute stuff we found, too, like old ice skates from when my sisters were toddler age back up in Canada, etc.
