So you are going back to a guy's apartment. You get into his room...and there is a scientific poster for a presentation on the wall next to his bed. What goes through your mind?

Well, when I see "presentation poster" I think of something one would present in class. Honestly, I don't know what science students do or talk about, as I'm on the complete opposite of the spectrum (English education).

Now that I have some details about what the poster actually looks like, I would say a scientific person. Which is just my opinion, as told by a woman.

After seeing the poster I would have to say I'm of mixed mind. If my mind is fully on the guy I might not even notice it till later. However if my mind wanders for even a second and I saw the picture the guy would get ignored and the mood would be lost. What I think of him should be already made up before getting to the room. If the poster makes me re-think the guy...well then i don't think I want to be there anyways.

A poster like that would be a huge turn-on for me. You'd be getting at least to third base. THIRD base, not FREE-base!

I'm not into science or the 'geeky' stuff some of you describe, but this would interest me enough that I'd stop and ask questions.

Then, if I was into you (which we've already established because I came back to your room), I'd eventually lose interest and be more interested in getting busy. ;)

It'd probably catch my eye and I might think something like "Hey, cool, he's a science/medical guy" but if I'm in his room, I'm probably too distracted to think much about it until later.

I was going to school for chemical engineering for awhile, and now I'm enjoying my anatomy classes, so I'm not sure if I'm the typical woman.

Once I really looked at the poster, I'd think something along the lines of sexy smart guy, with a dash of 'I hope that doesn't mean he likes to use the stuff.' Either way, I probably wouldn't notice the poster enough to really look at it til later.

I'm kind of with Kittish on this one. I have a coffee mug with the symbol for caffeine on it, because I like caffeinated drinks. If I saw that poster, I'd be worried that the guy used the stuff. It would probably lead to a discussion of why you've got the poster, and depending on your answer, might be a deal breaker. But then, I have a tendency to over-think things. :o

See, in my case, I probably would've already have seen it and found out why he had it before we even got to worrying about bases and things. But that's because I prefer to get to know the guys I date before dating. I'm weird. But if it was just there for shits and giggles as a science joke, I like the sense of humor. ^^

It would depend on the guy, as he could be many things. But without knowing anything else (and without being a woman), my initial impression of a guy based solely on that poster would be one of the following:

1. He's a cokehead.

2. He's a chem major.

3. He's a smartass.

4. He's Greenday.

Shot glasses very cool. I have no use for champagne glasses. And why, tell me WHY, do they have all those coffee mugs with the alcohol symbol on it, but no beer mugs?

Maybe it's because I'm a chem geek, but I've had no trouble finding them...

(To be fair, I have never actually looked for said beer mugs, but have thought about them from time to time....)

How about a nice shirt with a LSD molecule, a guy in a trenchcoat flashing into the shirt, and it says "Expose Yourself To Chemistry"? Oh wait, I'm wearing that now...How we got one of the school bookstores to print that, I have no idea.
