Why is it computers seem to freeze at all the wrong times?

Anyone know why? Always when you need to finish something important that's when they go.

Yeah, I hate it when that happens. Especially when you're almost finished with what you're doing. Then the damn thing dies, and you have to start all over. :(

It's Murphy's Law, plain and simple. Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.

Control-S is your friend!

Also, consider switching to a less freeze-happy operating system. If you're so inclined.

I got Ubuntu (Linux) and now I use Windows maybe once every other week, and only for one program that I can't get working on Ubuntu.

Just remember, if youre ever doing something and you think "man, id be gutted if i lost this", SAVE THEN...immediately! Dont even stop to finish your sentence, or youll forget to save and itll bomb in the next 10 minutes, always.

Well, if you want some theoretical science behind it, if it's important, you're probably more stressed, meaning you're more likely to make a mistake.
A bad enough mistake and you'll crash the system. Also, there's another theory that says the energy you put out when stressed is harmful to electronics, and that's why things go wrong more often when you're stressed.

They love to torment users. It's their notion of humor.
