I don't have too many details, but I just heard from CMH that her appendix burst last night, and they did surgery. Her parents have driven down to visit her. I'm sure she will be on when she can, when she gets out.

I'll drop her a card. It's hard to know how long she'll be in the hospital, though. I was only in a few days with my appendix, but then, mine didn't burst.

Silly girl...probably having symptoms but didn't want to take time from work during the busy season. Maybe now, they will realize exactly what she does around there.

it is not her yet..... it is frank (CMH)... she is still in the hospital and her roomie is batsh!t crazy. the roomie likes to play peek-a-boo with the curtain and treat sarah like one of the nurses.... she is an old bird, 80 or so. sarah is has been going through computer/internet/cs chat withdrawl and is now staring longily at the computers around the hospital.... withdrawl sucks. so i am posting while she is on the phone

RB: FRANK IS CRAZY FOR TYPING THIS OUT FOR ME.... HE IS LIKE MY SEEING EYE CHIMPANZEE BECUASE I AM STUCK IN THE HOSPITAL, HAVING INTERNET WITHDRAWL, SO FRANK IS MY ONLY OUTLET UNFORTUANTLY.

THE SURGERY WENT OK, THE SURGEON SAID IT WAS GOOD THAT THEY GOT IT OUT WHEN THEY DID.... HE SAID " IT WAS ALl ROTTING , FESTERING AND GROSS" SERGEON'S WORDS NOT SARAHS AND HIS BIG TEST FOR APPENDISITIS WAS TURN ON MY SIDE AND TAP ON MY ABDOMEMN WHEN SHE COUGHED... AND SHE SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER... YEP APPENDICITIS

ROOKIE CO-OP STUDENT WAS THERE TO HELP OUT WITH AN ULTRA SOUND WITH HER. AND THE 2 ULTRA SOUND TECHS WERE FIGHTING OVER WEITHER IT WAS APPENDICITIS OR NOT.. AND THE WOMAN WHO LEFT HER ALL WARM AND STICKY (NO PUN INTENDED) WON!

AND A NURSE MENTIONED SOMETHING ABOUT GULL STONES AND SHE HAS TO TALK TO THE DOCTOR ABOUT IT TOMMOROW..

Glad to hear she's getting better. Funny how tests for that kind of stuff are really simple. Like, when I had mono, the test was the doctor pushing down on different parts of my abdomen. Since the two parts that hurt were the liver and the spleen, he was able to guess it was mono, reaffirmed with a blood test.

I spoke to her recently. She's doing just fine and is going to be off from work for a while as to heal and relax.

Late to the thread, too, although I heard the breaking news in chat last week...

RB, you just rock on with your bad self. Anyone who can sit in hospital with stitches, a crazy old bat for a roommate, an SC for a nurse and STILL coin the phrase "seeing-eye chimpanzee" is someone who shall live forever and be around when the last cockroach chokes to death on the last Twinkie!! :cheers:
