I've been working at a fabric and crafts store cutting fabric for 2 years. Today I got a crash course in working the registers to cover another girl's shift. It was supposed to be 11-3... We got busy and my manager asked if I could stay til 10, and I needed the hours, so I said yes.
The day had gone fairly smoothly, all things considered, until about 8:15. This couple that were either high school or college students comes up to my counter and I ring up their fabric. I have to ask "and what are you making today?" with every customer. I usually don't have a problem with that because it makes my day less boring... But apparently this couple bought their fabric for a toga party, and apparently this guy was a moron. She replies with "We're making toga's for a party!" in a cheery voice... He then decides to hit on me:

He stands back obviously trying to make his muscles look bigger (read: existant) and says: "Can you picture me in a toga?" Then he leans on the counter, pushing his girlfriend out of the way, and says "I bet it'll fall off. Won't that be interesting?"

Oh. My. God. Really, douchebag?!

His girlfriend just looked at me in surprise, and upon seeing my own incredulous surprise, decided that her wrath should fall upon him. She glared at him, and when he didn't notice, she hit him with her purse. I really hope she ditches his ass!

I think I'll go back to the cutting counter from now on.

.....and if he wasn't wearing any undies, they'd be laughing at something else.

(Or, more likely, how that something else is lacking. )

 Another fabric store worker here! There's a few of us on here (check out some of flutes_and_fabric's (http://www.customerssuck.com/board/search.php?searchid=1343043) stories, particularly this one (http://www.customerssuck.com/board/showthread.php?t=49059)!)

Good, she knew the problem was with him and not you. So many times, some jerk hits on you in front of his signifigant other, and she'll think you're the one to blame! I hope she ripped him a new one or twenty.

Colleen McCullough has a series on historical Rome. Someone is trying to make a point (basically the defence lawyer at a trial), and so he goes to the defendant and rips the toga off, leaving him naked except for a loincloth (he was trying to show that this guy was obviously a soldier, and has served the republic). Some of the senators are discussing afterwards. The basic conclusion was that "he was wearing a loinwrap, this was obviously planned in advance". To this was added "and he obviously didn't feel up to standing in front of us without it".
