I took the kids to the pool for a brief swim and as we were walking back into the house I got stung on the ass by a wasp.
That's it. Carry on.

You think that's bad try swalling one and have it sting your esophagus right above the stomach line! Some of worst pain I've ever felt in my life.

Not only that but the spot where I got stung inside became really sensitive for about a year and whenever I got heartburn and acid washed up on it I got a really sharp pain from that area.

Well, I was gonna Nelson-laugh at NightAngel, but ditchdj killed the mood. My God. Wow.
I got stung on the nose, right beside one eye, where the cartilage is. It was at a theme park too. Y'know, I never even thought about it, but I shoulda threatened to sue and whined till I got my money back and a free lifetime pass. ;)

That's why you don't swat. I was just outside watering my plants when a hornet or wasp took an interest in my glasses. It was an inch from my eyeball. I calmly let it take its time investigating and a few moments later, it contentedly flew away. No harm done to either of us.
Of course, if it had wanted to land on my eye, I'm not sure what I would have done but I still probably wouldn't have tried swatting it.
Edit: Oh, wait, you meant swallowed, right? Owchie!

One of my biggest fears is of bees and anything with a stinger. See, that whole "Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone" thing often doesn't work for me, as almost every time I've ogtten stung it's becuase I found the freakin nest. Like on time, mowing the lawn, I stepped on this wood plank surrounding the thing of flowers around our house. Apparenly there was some kind of nest under there, cuz 8 yellow jackets stung me. That HURT! :( Surely not as much as getting stung inside of the esophagus, but it still hurt.
Then the summer after that I was mowing the lawn and stumbled across a hornet's nest! 3 stings that time, as we realized what had happened quicker thanks to the previous year's incident.
Then there was the time when I was 3 that I still remember to this day when I saw a bee on the ground and thought it was jsut a fly with yellow stripes, so I went to step on it with the curiousity of a 3 year old barefoot, and got stung.
And then there was the time when I was just walking by a flower that I didn't know there was a wasp on and I brushed the flower. The wasp flew up and stung me, then went to get his friends and I got stung a couple more times before I got away from them.
And then there was the time a wasp got tangled up in my hair. I didn't know what was up there, I felt something on my head so I reached up there with my hand. This was obviously something that didn't lost it's stinger, cuz it stung me in the same place like ten billion times before someone finally got it off my head.
So yea, not very good experiences with bees  I've been stung by pracitcally everything and I'm deathly afraid of them nowadays, and will scream like a little girl if I see one.

Actually, ditchdj said she swallowed it, not swatted it.

That's what I just figured out. Owchie! I guess stinging insect swallowing will never catch on like goldfish swallowing once did.

Wow, ditchdj... that REALLY sucks! :(
It's okay to laugh at mine One- Fang. That's actually why I posted it. When I got to work my co- workers laughed hysterically at me.
Oh, and the leave them alone and they'll leave you alone thing is, apparently, crap. LOL! I was simply walking to my front door, minding my own business.
im afraid of bees as well, even if they dont sting me im afraid of them being near me

 That usually true. Wasp are not bees. Wasp will get you for just being near their territory.
I've only been stung that I can remember once. I was a kid when I got stung. Somehow a wasp got in the house, into my closet and into one of my pant legs. Think closer to the belt line than the foot. :runaway: That really hurts, don't know if that matches being stung inside near the stomach. But being male, I'm sure its close.
Currently my house has a swarm of wasp around it. But they leave me alone. The only wasp I really worry about are yellow-jackets. They make killer-bees look tame.

While I was heading to Cape May on vacation, one of south NJ's famous greenflies came into the car...which almost caused my father to wreck as we tried to shoo it away. You usually don't see them in Cape May, but every now and then they show up. I've had them land on me, and I don't like them. Trust me, the bites are *very*nasty-looking and painful--sort of like a horsefly.

Oooooh greenflies/horseflies, that's another set of bugs that the world can live without.
