I'm reading up on music reviews and I keep coming across this word...

(This is from Progrock Archives (http://www.progarchives.com/) and their review of a Tangerine Dream album...)

For this is an album crammed with subtleties almost hidden behind songs that border on the twee, but in actual fact are full of poetic depth and disturbing imagery.

Twee?

Can I get a translation, please?

twee
"tiny, dainty, miniature," 1905, from childish pronunciation of sweet.
affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint <such a theme might sound twee or corny
