I could have sworn I posted this, but I didn't see it anywhere here. Anyway about two weeks ago on the max, (intercity train) I was doing some reading on a seat I somehow managed to grab. There is an influx of assholes who takes up several seats to lay across or put their bags on and they just ignore you if you ask them to move, an I saw a fight almost break out when one passanger just shoved the bag off a seat to sit down.

That being said, I was sitting and reading. Old lady came on and asked for the teenager playing his Ipod if she could sit down. He flipped her off. Some laughed. No-one would move ether their legs or bags for the few that did take up double seats. (it was mostly full with real people this time). Most abled bodied teens and young adults. So I moved and gave her my seat even though it wasn't in the area for eldery and disabled. She thank me and sat down and loudly said what a well mannered person I am.

So, I leaned against a bar trying to read and ignore the pain that started to shoot down my leg. I did my best to not lean on it as much, but that just not possible.

My stop came and I hobbled off, and coinidencedly, it was her stop too. She saw me limping and asked what was wrong. When I told her that about my hip problem, she was just in shocked.

"You have that, and you still gave up your seat for me? Thank you! Your mother did a good job!"

 "Uh yeah. her and my sister.... thanks..."

She was just in awe that I still did that. She did go off on the other teens and adults that wouldnt move, and she just couldn't belive how ill-mannereed and rude people are, but had some hope raised in her after what I did.

Kinda made my day really.

That and the several pain killers I took once i got home.

You rock - but.

If doing that harmed you, or caused you a pain flare that gave you trouble for more than an evening, you shouldn't have done it.

(Or so my family tells me when I do things like that!)

Pulled what?

To 'pull' over here is a slang term for 'picking up' someone romantically.

What I quoted above is one of the more brazen chat-up lines.

Maybe, but on the other hand, he was the one strong enough to bear it.

Thanks for making the world that much less sucky, Plaid.

Very true. Clearly, standing wouldn't help the old lady either.

I hate having to make those decisions. :(
