So I'm getting paid in two days, on the 25th, for my work in November. It'll be a nice hefty paycheck.
Until then, though, I have about 5000 yen (USD$42) to my name. I also have a date tonight in a city where a good date can run you a good 10,000.
Then I realized that I'd misplaced my passport. Now, not that this is really a panic situation, but in Japan, as a non-citizen, it's best to know exactly where your passport is in case of the occasional, unannounced, *cough*illegal*cough* immigration raids they pull on foreigner guest houses in Tokyo.
(Not that I'd answer the door if they'd pulled something like that. I mean, seriously, you want me to open my door to some random suit at 5am? Get real. Wait for sunlight.)
I looked in my work bag, which I've used maybe twice all December, and lo and behold, there's my passport!
And what's this? A yellow envelope! And what's that in there? 7000 yen! Wow! I never added this to my wallet the last time I was paid!
Oh Karma, thank thee for this gift thou hath bestowed upon my lowly self*!
*My Ye Olde English is not fluent. Cut me a break.
