Hello, everyone! I am *so happy* to have found this site! As so many others have said - finally, a place to vent!
By way of introduction, I work for a small insurance company as a receptionist/switchboard operator. I realize "switchboard operator" is a rather antiquated and outdated term, but it seems the vast majority of the people who I talk to every day don't know what a receptionist *does* (they're that stupid) unless I say I "operate a switchboard," and then they seem to figure it out. Whatever works to get the point across, right?
I have MANY stories of aggravation and frustration to share here, and I'm sure I'll be here a lot, because I never knew how many stupid, egotistical, impossible-to-please people there are in the world until I began answering phones for a living.
