My hubby and I agreed that since what each of us want is expensive that we'd trade presents in January after the children had theirs. He wants a large flat screen monitor for his computer and I want a major upgrade for mine. Basically, we've just given eachother permission to spend the money- even though normally we wouldn't. Either way we'll both be happy and the kids are happy now.

Eldest child wanted gift cards which made my life much easier! I threw in a copy of A Scanner Darkly for good measure since he's been dying for it.

My Mom got EXACTLY what she wanted The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and we threw in the collector's edition leather bound, gold leaf game guide with the cloth maps of Hyrule(sp?).

Our youngest got a skateboard (Tony Hawk is the coolest you know) with all the pads, helmet, etc., a HUGE remote contol train set, a HUGE remote control car racing set, a military gear play set (he's all about Army stuff), a bunch of other stuff I can't remember right now.

But of ALL the money we spent on Christmas and ALL the toys and stuff he got you know what he loves the most?

The Slinky. We spend hundreds of dollars and his favorite toy is the one that cost $3.69.

Go figure.

ok,just finished round two of presents. from my parents, i got a Kodak Picture Maker camera(AWESOME!!! now i have a great camera to take pics of the baby with!), beautiful sapphire earrings, a shirt, pants, Ice Age 2, a christmas ornament, christmas socks, and silverware.

honestly, i have to say the best part of christmas was seeing how everybody reacted to the presents i gave them. last night, i gave Peter(fiancee) the new American Pie movie, Cars, and a Jeep RC car. what he really wanted, though, was a deep fryer. i saw he was disappointed when he didn't open one last night. little did he know, that i had gotten the deep fryer, but i kept it at my moms as a surprise. so when he saw the deep fryer from me and my moms house, he was alot happier. afterwards, i asked him if he was disappointed last night about now getting the deep fryer. he said he was, but when he saw the deep fryer, he was alot happier.

my brother got an IPOD silhoutte speaker system. he saw this, and said,"oh my god! i wanted this, but had forgotten to ask for it! i can't believe it!" seeing him happy was great.

my dad got a TV. it wasn't very big, or an LCD plasma or anything like that, but he hasn't received a new one in years. he was actually using my old tv. i figured he could use a new one. he was very happy about that.

All these big expensive presents, i bought before Peter lost his job. the TV, the IPOD speakers, that was bought a while back, thankfully. otherwise, it woulnd't have been. so i think from now on, i need to start shopping real early so i have enough time to plan.

Some people are like slinkies. They are not really good for anything; however, they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

My great aunt use to send me a Christmas card with money in it, till I had children.

Now, they get the Christmas card with money in it and I don't even get a card. :( I know she loves me, because she calls and worries about me, like her sister (my grandmother) use to do, but it's the children that get all the attention at Christmas now.

I still love her to pieces anyway. :D

Well, my favorite gift was from baby brother: SPONGEBOB SEAT COVERS! They match the color of my car!!!!

My parents go way overboard with the stocking stuffers...I have enough candy to fatten up everyone in Africa, enough mini shampoos and conditioners to last a few weeks......enough pens and pencils to last a year....enough lipglosses to break about 5 hearts..

Then I got two purses (I know I should be thankful but why can't people ever buy me stuff in colors that I like? I don't like the colors red and white).

I got a pajama shirt from VS that says "Give me some bubbly" (lol)
A shirt from AE
A pair of Spongebob pajamas!

Giftcards to AE and the Icing (and I got one from VS in the mail for my bday)

A Family Guy calendar

A pair of purple fuzzy socks

and some other random stuff

Hehehe

Let's see, what did I get?

My parents bought me my Christmas tree, wreath, TV stand, a pair of shirts...and that was pretty much it.
From one brother, I got a bottle of Merlot, and a set of wine glasses. As if that wasn't enough, he got me a PS2-style game controller for the 'puter.
Other brother got me some games.
Both grandmas, as well as my aunt, gave me cash...which is going to be sunk into the house payments.

My kitty got 2 bags of treats, and some toy mice.

Believe it or not, but this is the second year in a row that I didn't ask for any models. I have too many as it is--one of my basement cabinets has floor-to ceiling stacks of unbuilt models. I think I have enough for the next 40 years

Mr. Rager!

My parents surprised me with one more thing today. They had forgotten about it on Christmas and I guess they spent their whole night scratching their head on what else they got me.

It's the complete Calvin and Hobbes Collection.

I'm pretty surprised about this. I saw it a long time ago at Best Buy and I said to my mom, "I NEED this" it was $100 if I remember correctly.

She goes, "not for that price you don't."

Well, I got it! :D

The kids really cleaned up. I bought the three youngest an XBox 360 and a few games, my Mom got them a PS3 with games, and my in-laws bought them a Wii. There's a freaking video game on every TV in the house. Santa gave both boys new trap guns, and youngest girl-child got her very-own pink .22 rifle. They also got the associated clothes, money, and what not.
Oldest daughter finally pick out a car and for whatever reason decided on a Cooper Mini, she paid a third, my Mom paid a third and the wife and I paid the rest. Adopted daughter had the same deal but picked a used XTerra.
Everyone pooled their money and bought my wife a very romantic Bobcat (skid-loader) with the post-hole attachment. I also got her a year long pajama-gram subscription. I just gotta remember to pick-out what kinda jammies she's going to get the next month, oh an new tires for her truck.
The kids bought me some new Micky Thompson pro-streets for my Torino. The wife got me new overalls and a GCs to Summitt Racing and Edlebrocks (can you say supercharger baby!!!!) Mom bought me a new air-ride seat for my tractor (this will save my back a lot of bouncing), my in-laws bought me a vintage 8-Track/Radio and tapes for my Torino and a new Lazyboy recliner.

After I got my well-worn but working Donkey Kong Jr. arcade machine, I didn't feel like getting much else - except a job, I've been laid off for over 3 months now. :(

So, I was surprised. Me and my wife got:

From my parents: Cash
My sister & her husband: pictures of her family & a Sears gift card (which we promptly used on pillows for us and the kids :D )
My brother & his wife: A Speedway Cash Card (don't have to worry about gas for about a week now!)

And I got:
My wife's stepparents: a couple pairs of jeans and a t-shirt/flannel pants combo for night
My wife: Ultimate Spider-Man, Gran Turismo 4, & Shadow Of The Colossus for my PS2, and a handheld Pac-Man LCD game

Considering how this year's gone, it was all very much appreciated.

Well, I only got one present, and it was a combo for both my birthday and Christmas. This sounds really sucky, except the present was:
a 10-day trip to New Zealand!
We left the 18th, came back yesterday and I had so much fun!

We spent Christmas day at my sister's place in Auckland and did stockings and stuff for the munchkin. The rest of the time we played tourist- I got to see the remaining parts of the Hobbiton movie set from LOTR!
There was also chocolate and bath stuff from Lush involved, but the trip was my present.

I got my Nintendo DS!! It's the white Lite one, and I have two games: Electroplankton and Super Mario. I also got a watch which has interchangeable straps and bezels - very nice. Chocolate, booze, jar of sweeties, jewellery, smellies, clothes, and a nice big blue snuggly blanket. And Dawn of War - now I'm off to blow up the Orks with my army of Dreadnoughts.

Hmmm . . . let's just say it's been a Madea Christmas for moi.:D

Not only did I get a hardcover copy of "The Innocent Man" by John Grisham, I also got a few DVD's.

Grease (special Rocking Rydell edition, w/replica mini T-Bird jacket encasing the DVD box)

Walking Tall (w/The Rock)

and the 3-DVD Tyler Perry collection . . . featuring everyone's favorite southern matriarch, Aunt Madea. This one has 3 of the stage plays:

Madea Goes To Jail
Why Did I Get Married?
Diary of a Mad, Black Woman

and also a copy of the movie "Madea's Family Reunion."

From my dad and stepmom, I received money (a $100 bill to be exact) which was spent on some clothes (nice pink cowl-neck sweater and a light green sweatshirt) and more DVD's . . .including

Are We There Yet?
I Can Do Bad All By Myself (another Tyler Perry stage production)
Married . . . With Children Season 4.

It's been a good Christmas . . . . . .
