I'm driving to Kansas City tomorrow to meet with the CEO of a publisher to be given a job offer. If I accept, I will be compiling and writing community profiles and articles for up to twenty websites they control.

I'm scared and delighted all at once, because this could be either the best thing that ever happened to me, or a complete disaster.

Well, thanks for all the good thoughts, guys, but I've turned down the job.

The money they offered me would have constituted a cut in pay, what with a longer commute and how much more expensive KC is to live in than Topeka. Also, they added something back into the job description that we had agreed to cut out the last time I talked to them. Which I thought was a little shady.

So I turned it down.
