What Am I Supposed To Eat NOW?

Okay this is from my deli days...I got promoted about six months ago to customer service. Our store has a deli that serves fried chicken and sides. It's like a mini-KFC in our store. It's also nice to have for breaks, so we don't have to spend our break time at a drive-thru.

Anyhoo, it was about 8:30 at night, and we were shutting down. All the food was cleared out of the cases and we were doing our nightly cleaning. This lady walks up with around 5 kids, and looks in the case. Then she looks at us and says, "Are you guys out of chicken?"

In my mind I said, "No we're playing hide and seek, you find the chicken...YOU WIN." Instead I said, "Ma'am we shut down the hot foods at 8 o'clock."
SC-"WHAT? That's rediculous."
Me-"Sorry we shut down the entire deli at 9."

SC smacks her hands down, makes a grunt, turns around and faces the rest of the store. While looking at this building filled with food, she says "What are we supposed to eat NOW?"

--If you can't find something to eat, in a building that is wall-to-wall food, then you deserve to strave. I think Darwin's laws need to apply.

Well, you know, you could follow the trail of cars to just about any McDonalds (personally, I would never wish such a horror upon a customer. No offense to the McD's workers around, but I can't stand the food any longer. Too greasy, too heavy...)

Eh, don't see the big deal other then a minor chuckle. I know me and my friends can grumble for hours over what to eat, and when we finally decide, we'd likely say the same thing if the place was closed.

let's see, you're in a grocery store; deli closes at a reasonable hour (8 seems late, but i'm used to our stores running out of hot items, and we rarely use delis for that), but, get this: there are literally AISLES AND AISLES of foodstuffs waiting for you to pick it up, mix a few things together and presto! dinner is served...


but that's being too realistic; it has to be already finished for some...:lol:

:scoffs: The deli at the store I work at closes at 10, when the store does. Unless, of course, customers are still waiting for their stupid deli sliced meats and cheeses. Losers.

still, it's not the only option, but for some, they go with what's right in front of them (oh noes, using my imagination?) rather than explore the possibilities.
