Today, my family and I had to go to the mall. Yes, the same mall I worked Security in, the job I quit in Dec. of 2005.
My husband was sitting on a bench outside of the toy store I was in with our children, when he sees my former boss walk by, stop and stand there just staring at me at the counter. So, my husband glares at him like he would at any man who is staring at his wife, till my former boss turns around and sees my husband giving him the hairy eyeball. Now, realize my former boss was always terrified of my husband for some reason that neither me or my husband could determine.
My former boss doesn't say a word to my husband and my husband doesn't say anything to him. My former boss walks away and starts talking into his radio, then turns to see that yes, my husband is still giving him the hairy eyeball and walks on. My husband said that next time he is going to ask him if there is a problem and if not, why is staring at me like some sort of stalker.
When we were walking back to our car, my husband sees the Security vehicle trailing behind us and looking like they were going to turn down the same aisle we were walking down, so my husband stops and gives the driver the hairy eyeball and the vehicle drives away at great speed.
I have been back to this mall on many occasions, keep to myself, courteous to all the staff I encounter and yet, I get followed around by Security. They never say a word to me, since I follow the rules, but they follow me anyway.
Seriously, what do they think I'm going to do? I'm there to shop like everyone else. What do they hope to accomplish by following me around?
