I got a new job at an elementary school that...well...involves working with children. Because of my age (21), they recommended that I dress more professionally for the first month or so, to establish a rapport and sense of authority with them. Sooo.....I get to go shopping!!!!! :D:D:D

I LOVE shopping!

I set aside $200 to buy clothes for this. And man, I did a good job!

I got:

Brown pinstriped pants. I LOVE pinstriped pants. $25
A pink long-sleeved blouse with very subtle pinstriping - it's more texture than anything. $20
A black long-sleeved blouse with green stripes. Very different (and Express!). $20
A brown 3/4 sleeve blouse with similar texturing to the pink shirt. $20
A classic white long-sleeved blouse. $25 (also Express)
A very interesting olive-green colored blouse, same classic style. $25 at Express
A very pretty pink striped blouse with small silver stripes in there. $25 at Express (See a trend? they're long enough...lol)
And a very classic grey pinstriped skirt. Knee length, and it moves! $20. Not Express.Grand total: $180

I think I did a pretty good job :D

Now, I can't WAIT to wear them lol

I need to start establishing limits when I go shopping...

It's not unlike me to blow $100-125 just on shoes... then an additional $300-400 on clothes to go with those shoes.

Or $1700 on a watch... but that's a different story... (buyer's remorse)

Good job on the shopping though, you did better than I would've anyday.

O.k. maybe I'm not reading the list right, or you had some clothes already. The way I am reading it, sounds like you only bought only one pair of pants, and one skirt.

My guess would be that, if she's like most females, she has other pants and skirts that will work and mainly needed some more "professional" tops. You can wear the same pair or pants or skirt with different tops and make very different looking outfits. Bottoms are much more versitile (c:

Exactly reformed waitress. I already had 2 pairs of black pants, a pair of brown pants, a gorgeous black pinstriped skirt, a really pretty white blouse and one like it but with stripes, and a tannish/green corduroy skirt.

Yeah - I needed more tops lol.

I'd kind of like a pinstripe suit.

But then again it would probably make me look like a mobster.

I'd LOVE a pinstripe suit. They're just so freaking expensive, and completely impractical for working with kids in Florida. Maybe one of these days...
