Hey, I figured with a Link avatar, calling my work the Stockpot Inn seemed fitting. First of all, all names are removed. As much as we think SC's deserve to be publicly shamed, legal reasons and such keep us from not. Secondly, I've removed specific details that could give me away. I put entries in my own words. Third, if more than one person got put on the DNR list for the same thing (most common was swearing and yelling at staff) I removed the entry altogher.

1. Claimed to be a doctor. Major EW and things we should treat her extra special. Always tries to pay with someone else’s CC and never tries to get the CC auth form we require. Says we give shitty service and says she won’t ever stay with us again, but fails to keep that promise.

2. Came to desk to get cash deposit back. When we couldn’t find it, surveillance showed she gave us a CC. When asked to leave, she refused until we threatened to call the cops.

3. Rude to front desk, and wouldn’t take control of their kids. From the stories here, this is not unique to hotels.

4. Smoked in a non-smoking room. Before we returned his cash deposit, we checked the room. We found cigarette butts all over. Guest claimed it was not him.

5. Racial remarks directed to one of my black coworkers.

6. High school group out of control. The “chaperone” did a pretty shitty job of it too. The students tried to move mattresses from one room to another. Some rooms had the bed frames damaged.

7. Total bitch and tried to scam the hotel. We charge a $15 pet fee, but this lady did not declare her pets until hk caught her having pets in the room. Claims to be homeless, but drives around with a brand new luxury car. Since my boss is middle-eastern and this lady is white, she tried playing the race card saying my boss is racist, ignoring the fact that he hired white people.

8. I made a post about these guys in a previous topic. In the topic I said we kicked them out because they didn’t have money to extend and they were well past the checkout time. Turns out we just didn’t have rooms to be able to extend them. They said they’d be out in 15 minutes, but not before urinating over everything.

9. Kept coming up with reasons why he was late with his payments. The checks he’s waiting on so he could cash them are always mailed to the wrong post office. He recognized me from my brief time at Motel 6. Police were looking for him.

10. They were upset at the fact that housekeeping cleaned their room and in the process threw away their marijuana. They complained that the room was cleaned too quickly and their food was thrown away. All their items were given back to these people except for the marijuana. They threw such a big fit and ended up receiving a free night. Room was a huge mess. Sadly, one of the few times my manager’s spine wasn’t strong enough.

I'm gonna add to this from mine (One of my guests sounds like yours.)

1. College group broke in next door to the empty Days Inn, and ransacked it. Drunk. Students were caught, we were blamed. Go figure.

2. Smoking pot in their room. Duh.

3. Taking a swing at my mother.

4. Breaking into the maintence office.

1) Barricaded himself in a room after the registered guest left the room with the door open. Refused to leave until police showed up.

2) Broke into cars at restaurant next door, wrote a bad check at restaurant next door, didn't leave until 3 hours past check-out.

3) Drunk, rowdy baseball team. Did not settle down until police showed up and realized that yes, we were serious about kicking them out.

4) A couple hookers who let their pit bull crap all over their rooms. Also, posting images on Craigslist advertising their services with photos that were clearly taken in our rooms.

5) Tried to lock me in room with him (I don't even want to think about what he was planning), making sexually suggestive remarks to other housekeepers, dumping rotten food in our parking lot, and telling our manager to "Go get f***ed." We kept receiving several threatening letters from him for months afterwards (he'd use stationary with our return address and not stamp the letters, so they would be stamped "Return to Sender" and arrive in our mailbox).

A sad commentary on humans, isn't it?

How does that one work?

The coach left his students with us, and was staying in college town 15 minutes away. Apparently I'm supposed to be watching all of his rooms for him.
I love my manager: "She's paid to keep the hotel safe, and our guests safe, not be babysitter. That's an extra 10.00 on her paycheck per hour. You paying it?"

You paying it?"Ahhh...So, I take it, the *coach* tried to blame you, but was shot down, yes...? As opposed to, you guys being held responsible? Trying to figure out whether we should be sympathetic to your plight (in case of the latter), or to buy your manager a beer (in case of the former)

Oh, I've got a couple from my housekeeping stint!

1)Baseball tournament in town (teenage boys, not sure what level that would be), motel filled with teams. Bathtubs full of half-melted ice and unidentifiable substances, toilets plugged solid with condoms (condoms filled with what looked like toothpaste - the stripy brand), linens covered with mud, blood and grass stains.

2)Traveling lawn tractor salesman with a huge porn and sex toy collection that he left tastefully  arranged on the bed every bloody day. Manager finally barred him from staying after every housekeeper had complained about that.

I won't go into what I endured as a member of the maintenance staff at a major BC university, because it's technically not a motel. :p

A "DNR" list? You're right, just pull the plug.:deadhorse:

Actually, the Return to Sender thing is brilliant, in a twisted phsycotic way.

Holy crap! I worked weekend night audit for almost 2 years and I recall one plugged toilet, having to switch someone who inadvertently were checked into a dirty room and the occasional (yet rare) minor rowdiness, the largest of which required 3 visits to the offending room before they finally shut the heck up. That's it. That's the terribly horribly bad stuff I remember. My hotel was positively serene!

(condoms filled with what looked like toothpaste - the stripy brand),

Ummm... better hope that was toothpaste. If it was something biological, those kids have major issues. I'd hate to think of a condition that would leave bodily fluids looking like stripy toothpaste!
