1. My lobby's computers don't allow internet access unless you were given the username and password at checkin. If you come off the street without getting a room to use the computer, I give bad customer service.
2. I tell you you can't eat our breakfast without having a room here.
3. Because I charge you for services we charge everyone else. Rollaway, fax, phone, etc.
4. I tell you it's already past the time pizza usually delivers or the Applebees near us closes.
Number 4 happened tonight. Lady calls down wanting to know of places that still deliver. It was past midnight. Here nothing delivers that late. Somehow it was poor customer service because places I had no control over were closed.

5.You don't personally tuck the guests in with milk and cookies, which, ironically, do not get delivered past midnight by any location.

Except that would be bad customer service too, because they might be lactose intolerant.
They aren't. But they might be. And having milk and cookies is just insensitive to those who can't enjoy them.
... Soy milk? Soy milk!? That's it, GET ME YOUR MANAGER!

oh god someone link the thread someone posted about the guy who was allergic to the ingredients in hair gel, but rubbed it on his hands "to see if he was allergic" then asked if he should sue the store.

lactose free milk offends my sensibilities. Heathen! I can't believe this place caters to heathens! Whats your corporate number! no! Whats your CEO's home number, AIM handle, and favorite sexual position!

Is it wrong that I envision the OP resorting to a mocking laugh and golf clap everytime someone accuses him of this thing called "bad customer service"?

This is why corporate took away the coffee and water cooler away from the waiting room for customers who waited for the vehicles to be serviced. :(

Those two aren't customers but freeloaders, therefore it can't be customer service.
I hope you explained that to them.

How dare you be so insensitive to the needs of those with dairy allergies! And vegans! I'll have your job for this!

Unless you're near an Insomnia Cookies. They delivery milk and cookies (as well as brownies and cupcakes) until 2AM.

Yeah, it's for real. They're around a few college campuses. I used to get cookies from them from time to time. The best part is that the delivery people have little oven things so the cookies and brownies always arrive hot.

you're bad at customer service? AWESOME!
1/2. you suck because you don't allow freeloading-awesome.
3. you suck because you charge for things that are chargeable-also awesome.
4. you suck because you can't force places that have no relationship beyond providing food to your hotel to stay open-you sir, are my hero.

6. Because I don't give out 45% discounts just because.
A guy called up saying I had the "worst customer service ever" because he wanted to pay $40 for a room that was $73 and I wasn't "working with him" when I refused.

If you were to tell that to management, they would say but they are potential customers and should be treated just like customers....
OR you don't want them to talk bad about you to others, which is why my manager pays off scammers to keep them coming back and affecting our customer satisfaction program because we aren't supposed to reward our paying customers.

I stayed in a hotel which almost did that last month. Not the tuck-in, but they had free milk & cookies in the lounge from 8-10 every night. So awesome. :)
