Outage Just Now

Hiya folks. After the last outage a few days ago, I've been reading logs and code, trying to find the cause. Today, I was trying a few of the combinations that looked plausible, trying to find a way to know for sure what was breaking.

Good news: I found a combination that breaks everything!
Bad news: I found a combination that breaks everything!

That's right, the outage just now was caused by me. Now that I can reproduce it, I have to find a way to prevent it. The hardest step is done, though, and I apologize for the outage.

It really wasn't deliberate. I didn't think I could do it, to be honest. Not with the knowledge that I had, and the results I was getting from what I had been doing so far.

I was wondering if I'd missed a notice about a forum software update. Fired off an e-mail to Raps and everything just to be sure.

Well, he was on my shoulder, so it was definitely his fault. Very definitely. :)

Was that why we were trying to ban a spammer and it wouldn't take?

I managed to fix the problem, I think.

Only if it happened during that little outage, or the minute or so before it.

Looks like RK tried to ban the spammer at 12:14. I came in a little later and tried it myself, and it didn't work for me either.

I ended up taking down the board and repairing and optimizing the tables. That seemed to do the trick.
