Yes, I have conjunctivitis, otherwise known as pinkeye. It sucks. My eye started itching on Thursday night while I was watching The Office. At first I just thought that I had a tear in my contacts. Annoying for sure, but all I had to do was throw out the offending contacts and I'd be ok.

When I got home I took out my contact and both of my eyes were just blood red and I had green gunk coming out of the corners. There went my weekend!

I went to urgent care yesterday and I have to take antibiotic eye drops every 3 hours. I have disinfected EVERYTHING in my room, living room, kitchen and tomorrow I'm taking my car in to be cleaned thoroughly inside & out. I've also quarantined myself in my room for the weekend. Fun huh?

Before I console you, I have to say this.

Are you sure there isn't a chance you might turn into a zombie? *South Park*

Sorry about that. XD Anyways, I hope you feel better soon.

Ew! Sorry to hear that. :(

Yes, scrub everything- Pink Eye is extremely contageous.
Also, wear socks on your hands when you go to sleep so you don't scratch your face up while you sleep.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

I've been disinfecting everything I may have touched. EVERYTHING. I've washed all my clothes that I've worn all week and my sheets. I've been spraying Lysol in every room I've been in. It's exhausting. :(

I got it from my sister. She had it last week and we thought we'd all dodged a bullet after no one got it after a few days. But I got it on Thursday. At least I can see. My sister could barely open her eyes for 2-3 days. She also said that her eyedrops stung a lot when she put them in during that time as well. Her doctor told her that it was the antibiotics in th drops that made her eyes sting. In other words, her eyes were VERY infected and the meds were merely working. My eyedrops sting a bit, but not too much.

I hate being cooped up in my room though. I hate it, but I can't really go out until Monday and I'm still pretty contagious. Thank God for my laptop and wireless internet transmissions! :D

When I worked in a group home, I had a client who used to develop pink eye with distressing regularity. Because he was unable to apply eye drops, I had to do it for him.

Amazingly, I never got it myself. I also managed to keep my other five clients who lived with him from getting it.

Looks like I'm not the only one with eye problems today.

I had another one of my corneal erosions. Eye hurt like a bitch all day and only now has gotten better. I called in sick to work and now I don't know what to do with myself because I slept just about all day and won't be able to get back to sleep later.

I got that crap a couple years ago when my three year old was six months old and got it from her. The blood-red eyes started the night after Thanksgiving when we all went to McDonald's. It was kinda funny the girl at the counter staring at me weirdly and then looking away with a polite smile when I looked at her. I got some antibiotic drops from the doctor and it went away in a few days. It was weird watching that green gunk materialize from the inside of my lower eyelid.

Nobody caught it around me, though. I just made sure not to touch my eyes, and if I did, I made sure to wash my hands real good.

Don't forget about your contacts. Buy a new case, and clean them real good. You should also get some new solution. I know about pink eye. Every one of my kids had it at one time or another, except the baby, he isn't in daycare.

Adding on to what Crazyredhead said (teehee, oh the rhyming!), if your contact lenses are disposable, you're supposed to toss them-they really can't be salvaged. Throw out your case, too-don't take any chances!

I feel your pain, though. I never used to get eye infections until I started my current job, our patients bring it in all the time and I just get lucky. :( Even though I am *very* fussy and careful when taking care of my peepers!

In fact, over the course of the last year I actually ended up getting some wack ass viral infection in my right eye-every time I tried wearing my (NEW) contacts for a couple of days, it would freak out again! That was a fun summer, for the longest time we thought it was a bacterial thing but in the end it took an eye drop with a steroid in it to keep it at bay. Blah-those drops SUCK, but they did work wonders!

I went back to work today after taking Friday off and the weekend to recover. I work in a cubicle farm and everyone wanted to see but NOT touch my pink. I think I disappointed them though--it was barely noticeable. Also, nobody at work had ever seen my in glasses before so today I was just the freekshow in the office.

My eyes are healing really well. When I got to work I sprayed and wiped down everything I could with disinfectant and introduced hand sanitizer to the other stuff on my desk.

As for the eye drops--man, do they sting! :( I have to apply them every three hours (when I'm not sleeping) and I'm basically blind for 2 minutes afterwards. The antibiotics are working though, so just another 4 more days or so.
