View Full Version : I think they want $$$ so bad they will sacrifice their children

Where I live a memo is sent out every month that states that children are not allowed to play or ride their bikes in the parking lots. This seems like common sense, since there are cars coming and going all the time.

It seems not matter how late I come home, there are children playing in the parking lot. I mean, it will be 12:30 AM and there will be children as young as 2 years old dressed in dark clothing riding their big wheels around in the parking lot.

I almost hit a 2 year old, because he ran out in the middle of parking lot when I was pulling in at MIDNIGHT! The last thing I expected to see that late at night was a small child running around.

The only thing I can figure is that the parents are hoping someone hits their child and the parents can then collect $$$ from the insurance company.

Why else would they disregard the memo every single month and allow their children to play in the parking lot till all hours?

I second April...and try talking to the...leasing office, or whatever, to see if they might know where exactly these children live, and talk to their parents or something...

I completely sympathize. :pissed:

The kids here in my community play out in the street. It's almost impossible to drive through without having a near miss. They shoot out of driveways on their bikes, skate boards, running, whatever and you can't see them until it's almost too late.

And I'm not just talking about SOME of the kids- I mean ALL of them. When you aren't almost running them over you're having to drive really, really slow and weave from one side of the road to the other to avoid them.

The parents encourage the kids to play out there. I'm trying to teach my youngest son that playing in the road is bad. It's pretty hard to convince a 5 year old that something is wrong when literally every other child is doing it. It also means that if I'm going to let him go play with the other kids he either gets left behind/ left out or he goes in the road with them.
When he chooses the latter I make him come in because he knows he isn't supposed to. I know it's hard when all the other kids are playing a game and he can't but my kid simply isn't playing in the street!

Most of the parents also don't set any perimeters for their kids. None.
There are little tiny kids who run all over the place- their parents can't possibly know where they are. Maybe they're stupid enough to think that since this is a gated community with a fence around it that's going to stop bad people or the kids will stop at the fence line. The gates are open during the day and there are no less than 3 openings in the fence that allow foot traffic.

Uhhhmm... oops. Ranted- sorry.

I can't imagine they're even going for insurance $$. I mean, the constant memo kind of negates that, surely?

Sadly, it will take somebody's kid being hurt or killed before these meatheads realise what they're doing.

I suspect they're some of that great group of people who have children either accidentally or because "that's what you're supposed to do" without regard to whether they actually want children and all the attendant responsibilities.

The sooner there is forced sterilisation and a licence to breed, the better.

I go to school in Tampa, and work with the kids there. Now, I come from the Orlando area, so it's a shock to see what real inner-city kids are like. Holy crap. 22 kids k-5 by myself is about enough to drive me up the wall. And these kids are relatively well-off compared to some of the kids around. It makes me go AAAAGH!! lol

And people wonder why folks outside of Tampa don't want their kids bused over to Tampa's schools. I'm glad my parents made sure I went to good schools (went to a private school for most of my schooling).

I bet that the parents would pitch a fit if the kid's names were listed on the memo. "The following children, see next page, were seen playing in the parking lot. It is the parent's duty to make sure their children are following the rules ie. No playing in the parking lot. You will be fined if your children are caught playing in the parking lot again."
