My big guy turned 14 years old today. Yes, he heard the groundhog jokes.
The restaurant he wanted to go to tonight had an hour and 20 minute wait, but it's where he wanted to eat, so we waited.
The food was great and it was funny to see waitresses bring out a sadle for him to sit on and have everyone shout "YEA HAW!"
My baby is growning up so fast!

I know how you fell, just on the opposite end of the kids. My youngest turned 5 on Wednesday and I actually got a little sad on Tuesday because, as I said it, "today is the last day I am ever going to have a 4yo." My oldest two just laughed at me. :p
Her daddy asked her if we still had a party and she got her presents and stuff could she just turn 4 again and she looked at him and said "yep". I love my baby, she's so accomodating.
Now I've just got to try not to cry when she starts Kindergarden in August.

sportsmom, I cried on the first day of Kindergarden for all three of my children. The trick is don't let your daughter see you cry.
My oldest (the one who turned 14) will be starting High School next year! I look at him and wonder how on earth he grew up so fast and second, how on earth did I become old enough to have a child going into High School?! :( ;)

Aaah, your big guy is 14 years old...in 10 years time he'll be the perfect age to be my third husband *ducks and runs away*
I don't have kids, but speaking for my parents, even though I'm a few years shy of 30, they still regard me as their "little girl". I suspect my father will forever picture me as the gawky 6 year old with no front teeth and pigtails. Even after I'm married! *loves the parentals*

It is truly scary- it's like you blink and they're almost grown.
I never feel weird or old on my own birthdays but everytime my oldest son has a birthday it's like a slap in the face. I'm like, "Whoa! You can't be that old- 'cause that means I'm... AAARRRG!"
I'm trying to get used to the fact that later this year he'll be 16.
I was 16 yesterday.
What happened?

I didn't cry on the first day of school for the oldest two, but I might just have a few slip out when she starts because she's my baby.
