So, I've been posting from the laptop because my stupid computer broke. TWICE.

First, a few days ago it went... strange.
Our first thought was a virus but we have alot of up to date security measures in place and haven't had a virus on it before. I'm also extremely careful- I even scan items (family pics, etc) sent from family members and delete everything else.
Eventually, after much careful checking, scanning, etc., we ruled out virus but obviously something was wrong.
(Never fear I haven't used that computer here since it began acting funny. I wouldn't do that! Heck, it wouldn't even see the internet.)
My hubby figured out what was wrong and fixed it. Don't ask me because I really don't know- I know it wasn't a virus that's it.

But it worked and all was well for one day.

Last night I get home and my computer won't power up at all. Hubby opens it up and says, "Oh, well now the power supply is fried." :banghead:
We have another case with a power supply and motherboard. The motherboard in it is not capable of running the Sims (a must) and the power supply connectors don't fit my motherboard.

It's really irritating not being able to get to all my stuff, projects, pics, etc.
:rage:

But at least I still have CS. :)

EDIT: Clarify. When I say my computer I mean- it's MY computer. Each adult at my house has their own and we don't use eachother's normally. Except, for now... 'cause mine's broke.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck N.A.

I know what it's like to go through those issues with computers and can totally sympathize with you in being without one.

You can just buy a replacement power supply. Probably be cheaper (if it really is the power supply). Check NewEgg, they have one for around 13 bucks (at the time of writing, ATX type).

However, the problems sound very much like lack of power. Strange behavior usually happens a few days (sometimes weeks) before the power supplies finally dies.
