I have just encountered the World's Gooeiest Pen. I swear, I grabbed it and now my right hand is black, the other pens/pencils in my pen cup are black. The top of my desk is black anyway but now I can see where there is a puddle of ink. It's on my pants and somehow, on my leg under my pants.

I scrubbed my hands but the ink was so thick I'm stained so my hand looks like it's really nasty dirty but it's not- it's just inky.

I have offended the Pen Gods somehow.

Nope, just a plain old Bic pen that came in a pack of like 20 Bic pens.
The round, white stick, black ink Bic pens are my favorite.

Might be a bit late now, but try using granulated sugar and washing up liquid to clean up.

The All Mighty Pen Gods have looked favorably upon my for a while, but I'll never forget the last time I displeased them. Now, keep in mind that I have no idea as to how I offended them in the first place... One time I was doing my usual work-related activities and I needed a pen. I reached into one of my apron pockets and discovered that THREE of my pens practically exploded. :wtf: :headscratch: Since then, though, they've all been very well behaved.

Ahhhh The Pen Gods. last time I upset then, was when I had an interview, and I was writing with that pen, until it exploded onto my favorite dress pants, and favorite dress shirt. I knew before then, to wear my lucky outfit, but did I.......NOOOOO

Pens are fun!!

I remember my manager (not manager at the time) was telling me about how I gave the wrong reason for a markdown. I was kind of mad about it, because one way would ask me to price-match it.. and we don't price match Sears. The other way, was just customer satisfaction... and that's typically all fine and dandy

Anyway, she was telling me this and as soon as she got done, I hit the pen on the edge of the counter hard enough to break it. A chunk flew into her hair, turning her hair red for the rest of the day.

Funny thing was, she wasn't even mad about it. She laughed. We still laugh at about it now.

Pens are fun!!

Hair spray will take it right off.

Had a roomate put a pen into the dryer once. My dryer and his shirts were COVERED in ink. Used some hair spray (the kind in a pump-style bottle) melted it right off the dryer barrel and his shirts.

I have heard it's the alchohol, but if that's so, why not just use alchohol? I dunno. That might work. But I know that hair spray will.

OK, I was trying to find out why hairspray works, cuz I'm curious that way, and I found this:

Q. Should I use hairspray to remove a ballpoint ink stain?
A. Hairspray and water can remove ballpoint ink, but you may be trading one problem for another. That’s because hairspray could contain alcohol and oils such as resins and lanolin. The alcohol in the hairspray can cause color damage especially on silk; likewise, oils and other ingredients could lead to additional stains.

So you should probably check the ingredients and maybe spot test the fabric first. I found plenty of advice from people who say it works, but nothing about HOW it works. Oh, well. I've used it myself anyway... :)

I appreciate all the advice. I got the ink off my hands- thanks!

As for my pants- it's my Yoga pants I only wear to sleep in so I'm unbothered if they have an ink stain. :)

Oh, gooey pens!

You're not going to believe how I misread this title at first. Particularly the second word. :o

Well, one good thing about being in the gutter: I'll never be lonely.

Oops. I guess I must have missed a post or two.

Still, it's nice to see that some really fun people are keeping me company here in the gutter. :D

OK, that wasn't my first thought on reading the title, but at the first mention of someone misreading it, I knew exactly what they meant...
