I had a GREAT night last night! Radio station here in KC had Zakk Wylde on for an interview, then he did a meet and greet at America's Pub in Westport, KC. For those who do not know, Zakk Wylde is the guitar player for Ozzy Osbourne and frontman and lead guitar for Black Label Society. He's also my husband's HERO and I am also a big fan, having grown up on Sabbath and Ozzy.
So Husband and I got to the Pub at about 6:45. They didn't start letting people in until around 7:45 because the event wasn't to begin until 8 PM. So after standing in the cold, we get inside and they gave us wrist bands. The first 100 people got them, and that guaranteed us to be able to see Zakk and get something signed. Mine and Husband's bands were numbered 96 and 97. So we BARELY got through! (Those who didn't get bands could see him, but the wrist bands were first priority. Those without were first-come first-serve once the people with the bands got through.)
So we got in line to meet Zakk. And proceeded to wait about THREE HOURS. But OH it was well-worth it! THANK GOD for the chairs throughout the bar, otherwise I might not have made it. I'm 6 months pregnant, so I'm sure my back and legs would've paid me back for that one.
Zakk was a great guy. Everyone got hugs, and everyone got something signed if they wanted. I got three hugs, and two kisses on the cheek. He congratulated us on our pregnancy, and wished us the best. I wish we'd of gotten a picture of him touching my tummy since baby Connor was kicking up a storm, but alas, the camera didn't work with us. We did however, get some AWESOME pictures:

Anyways, it was a FANTASTIC night. I'm still in disbelief that I met someone who in my eyes, is just legendary. It was extra great that he was such a gracious person. His generousity towards his fans is well-known, but I was still unprepared for how sweet he really was. I couldn't stop smiling!
