I finally got a new job!

In the last several months I have been looking for a job in a veterinary clinic. I had a lot of difficulties finding one. I finally got an interview with one a couple of weeks ago and I was hired! I am so damn happy about it. My last day at Walmart was this past Thursday and I have gone into the vet to train for a couple of days during my days off from walmart. I'm going to be back and forth between being a receptionist and a veterinary assistant.

Just remember, when they yell at you, "Are you just going to let my precious <pet> die!?!" when they don't have the money for the necessary treatment, don't take it personally.

The satisfaction, and snuggle factor of the animals you can and do help makes up for the ones you can't....and you can't save them all.

I miss working with animals, but I don't miss thier owners. May you have wonderfully UNsucky clients!

Congrats! I worked as a receptionist for our vet one summer when his was out on maternity leave. I was too young to really help with the animals, but the ones that were well behaved and there to be kenneled? The cats got to wander in the room behind me and around and under my desk, which was completely closed in so they couldn't get out. I loved having kitties around me constantly.

The fuzzy factor has been huge so far. Had several 8 day old minature bulldogs (first time I heard of them coming in mini size) come in today. They were adorable. Lots of puppies! The job is going great. The people there are great. Gotten a few nit picky clients but nobody crazy yet. I figure it's going to be a matter of time since I officially started today (went in four other times on my days off from walmart).
