Wow that was pretty easy! It only took about 25 minutes to do it. The only thing that was painful was the novocaine shot into the roof of my mouth. I actually felt the dentist cleaning out both roots through the pressure but there was no pain. My dentist told me that the root was actually not infected yet but was in the process of dying, which is why the pain wasnt so bad yet. The socket is a little sore, but I have Vicotin to control the pain, which makes the pain very minimal with only a little discomfort, kinda like when you get a big bruise. It all cost me $660.

Glad it worked out for you!!! Mine took longer than that, I think, and there was no pain at all....but I hated having to keep my mouth open for a really long time, and the tooth was in the back  . I just got the crown for it last month. That procedure was a royal pain in the ass. And expensive too. This is why we only get diseased teeth when we still have our parent's health insurance...if I was on my own I'd be SOL.

Nothing like prescription narcotics to make everything happy.:D Get better soon. Those Root Canals can be a real PITA.

When I got my wisdom teeth out the prescription just made me sick to my stomach :(
Last thing you want to do is :puke: when you have stitches in your mouth. (Luckily I didn't actually get sick but there was one frantic run upstairs and down the hall to the bathroom, then I spent the rest of the day in mommy's bed with the big bowl, just in case.)
I tried it twice, then switched to Tylenol. I never get the good drugs!

I wonder if I win the root canal effect. One I needed I ended up seeing a specialist, who asked if I minded if he called in other people on site. He had to show off the problem with my root canal was that I was short one root in the tooth.
