Phone operators and full moons

I have a friend who worked as a phone operator for a number of years. We loved his stories of crazy people who called him for assistance. He swore most of the craziest of the crazy happened during the full moon. Here's my favorite story:

E:Operator, how may I help you?
Crazy guy: I'm trying to call my brother in law and they're not answering the phone. I know they are home.
E: Um, okay. How may I help you?
CG: MAKE them answer it!

E said he really wanted to say "Okay, sir, loan me a gun and a car and I'll see what I can do."

I've had ppl call about that too. We have digital phone through my company & I've had ppl ask me to call the person to make sure they pick up the phone. I advise them to call the operator. *sigh* Poor operator.
