I live in Minneapolis. My son lives with his mother in Sioux Falls SD. Last Friday, I went to pick him up half way, and the roads were not that bad. I had to slow down a little, but not too much. It snowed all day Saturday, so I was cooped up in my tiny studio apartment with a very active seven year old. Sunday morning, my ex wife called me, and we decided that it would not be the best idea to meet on Sunday like we usually do.
Monday morning (my birthday), I was on the road before seven, to bring him back to South Dakota. I hit some weather on the way down, and a four hour drive turned into five and a half. I finally got back to Minneapolis at 5:30, and went into work, and was there until 1:30.
All of that wouldn't have been so bad, but today, I am supposed to go to Wisconsin. A trip I have had planned for several months. And of course it is snowing. I don't mind winter weather, but by the time March rolls around, I am ready for it to end.
Don't come to Wi, I'll save you the trouble by telling you, it's just as bad if not worse here.
Where I live got over 12 inches last week. More southern areas of WI like LaCrosse and Tomah got almost 30 inches of snow.
We're expected to get at least 12 more inches tonight and tomorrow. I took yesterday and today off of work because the plows won't come out until it's done snowing, it's useless to plow if the snow doesn't stop, and my car is not a winter car :(.
Woot, yet ANOTHER weekend of being stuck at home because the weather is too shitty to go anywhere. Joy. Tuesday was the ONLY day this week that it hasn't snowed at all.
MAKE IT STOP.

I am sincerely hoping that it all clears up out there by the first part of april as well. I'm supposed to be helping a friend drive from washington state back to Ohio by then and a trip across the arctic is not what I signed on for.
Though I bet you'd like the snow over the mud pit we got in Ohio right now.

I'm in Rochester (MN) right now, and we're supposed to be on the outter edge of the storm. Well, the mall is closing completely at 6:30 because of the weather, and I have to talk to the roomie because he wants to go out tonight. I'm thinking, "no effin' way"...
It's pretty ridiculous!
Ya know, I'm honestly thinking that this is the end of it.
Because if you think about it, well, I guess where I live, we get the teaser weather and high temps, only to get a foot or two of snow dumped on us for a week or two......then it all goes away.
It looks like starting Saturday is the light at the end of the tunnel.....I'm pretty sure that this is the last winter storm we're going to have this winter.

Why don't you all just give in and move to Florida? No snow here. Today was mid-80s.
I used to live in northern Michigan. I remember the weather. The only time I'll head back up there is when it's July or August, when it's warm.
Hurricanes, you ask? Rare. Mostly wind and rain.
Come on down! You'll end up here eventually, anyway.
Everyone does....

Uhh... (totally not political) but if people thought they voted for Al Gore and actually voted for Pat Buchanen... I don't want to be near them. That scares me!!!
Plus, I'll take a few winter storms over one big hurricane :p
Sorry...
While I'm dying to take a vacation somewhere tropical and go to Disney World.......there are too many old people in Florida. Many, many more than there are here.
Plus I love spring summer and fall in WI...........storms tornados hot weather, woo!
Yeah, East River got hit with something. I watched KELOland news when they had the school closeline running and schools were closing left and right from Aberdeen down to Sux Falls. I-29 out of Sioux Falls was closed and I-90 east of SF was closed into Minnesota.
West River got squat as usual. But now we have high wind warnings and the wind chill is -10F.

The foot or so of snow in my yard is *finally* gone. The rain last night took care of what was left. I'd forgotten there was grass and junk under there :p
