All State !!

Hey all. I haven't posted much but I HAVE to post this. My 18yo son made All State Jazz Band playing the Baritone Sax. For those of you not into high school music this means he is the BEST High School Baritone Sax Jazz Musician in the state of Tennessee !!!!!!!!!!! W00T!! :angel: :D

All-state jazz is hard as hell to make into. We used to hold the comptitions to get into it and there is a lot of people trying out. I never tried out for it, as I was only okay at playing bass guitar. I got extra credit though for being the person who'd talk to the person trying-out and the judges since they cannot talk to eachother. It was cool though. Congrats to your son for making it.

Heh, I'm a band geek, so I'll let you in on a little secret. I don't know how it is around Tennessee instrument-wise, but All state competitions for Bari Sax down here had like 8 people even trying out that were worth it.

Still, this is gonna look excellent on his college resume and will put him as step above the competition.

Edit: I play some Sax, and I also happen to love deep soloes in jazz band on bari. It's got a great sound. I think it was co-named forr "barry" white.....get it? get it?
