I hate it when you go to the gym, and you see some guy (or girl) get done with a machine and they don't wipe it down, and they're nasty sweaty gross.

There is this one guy at the gym I go to who I nicknamed "Jorge McSweatypants" (his first name is Jorge.) The guy sweats while sitting, getting his machine ready. Its majorly gross. We've said something to him before, and he started wiping stuff down, for like, a week. Then he went back to his old habits. There's no one you can really tell since it's a gym at work. It just makes me not wanna work out anymore.

Does anyone have someone like this at their gym?

It's really really gross. Is it not part of the rules of use at your gym? I know at my gym that you have to have a sweat towel and wipe down the equipment afterwards. Could you not get someone at the gym to talk to them? Coz if someone gets an infection from the dirty equipment after this dude's been there, the gym would most likely be held liable...

Well, its a gym provided by work. We have a "facilities manager" but all that will happen is an email is sent out. It does say in the rules for the gym to be courteous and wipe down the equipment. We used to have a spray we used to spray off the equipment. It was a disinfectant and it was always used it before and after using equipment. However, we've recently hired a new custodial staff and it hasnt been seen since. I lay down a towel when I work out now because of it and wash it daily.

I've considered going outside of work for a gym because of this guy. But I can't afford it right now. The gym at my apartment is just plain crappy.

Maybe if enough people complain...you don't notice when one pigeon decorates your car, but when a whole flock does it, it gets your attention!
