I pulled up into my driveway yesterday and found yet another phone book for my county. That brings the total count for phone books to 7; all from different companies.
My county has a population of 280,000 give or take, and my city has 17,000 population.
So why do I need 7 different phone books?
*sigh*

Off to the recycle bin they go.

Tell me about it! This is what it's been like here

Monday-Regular sized phone book, the yellow pages I think

Tuesday, regular sized yellow pages, plus a smaller, business only book

Wednesday, smaller phone book

Thursday-Another brand of phone book, regular sized

Friday AND saturday, off brand of phone book, regular size

Seriously. NO MORE phone books, please.

I don't know how it works, if they just have people deliver to wherever or what, but that's alot of trees.

Oh well, my kids, for some reason, enjoy "reading" the phone book. I'll give them a few

I'd be happy with 7 phone books!!!

Because whenever I need one, I cannot find one. And now since I'm living with less than organized people, maybe I should see if people in the area would be willing to donate their phonebooks.

I'd rather have 7 phone books than none at all. Roomate took the liberty of stealing our phone book the day it came (I'd placed it on the counter).

Sure, I can look a number up online or call 411.....but it's always convenient to have a phone book around in case the internet doesn't work and I really don't feel like spending 50 cents on 411.

1-800-373-3411 for free info. It's supported by advertising, but I'd rather spend a few minutes, than a few dollars for directory assistance! (My cell plan charges almost $2 for a 411 call)

Meh...I don't use the phonebooks we have. Hell, I don't even bring them into the house anymore. What numbers I need I have in my cell phone (except for the pizza places...their coupons are everywhere).
