Thank goodness. I hated my phone. The camera sucked, battery wasn't holding a charge (and the phone was so old it would cost $40 for a new battery).
So I decided it was time for a new phone since my eligibility started today!!

I got the new Samsung Sync (SGH-A707) in red. It is $50 after rebate. Of course letstalk.com is offering it free after rebate, but I don't qualify for that for another 4 months. Knowing my luck my battery wont last that long, so I cut my losses.

The phone is cool, I just need to figure out how to use it!! I've had my old phone for so long I can use it with my eyes closed.

I am off to try to figure out how to assign ring tones. Guess reading the manual would be a good idea.

All you phone people, is this a good phone? Any advice?

So now stupid me is locked out of my wonderful new phone. I was messing around with it and decided to change the lock code.

I go into pin check not realizing it's not the same thing and lock myself out.
Now I need the PUK code which you can only get from customer service which is only open M-Sat. Great.

I hope the store can help me tomorrow.
I am so dumb.

I have the new Sync as well, what's driving me a bit nuts is that the voicemail-notification sometimes will refuse to work even after I've set it.

OT a bit, does anyone here know if MIDI-format ringtones will work on this phone, or if I can even transfer them via USB? The ones preloaded on the phone are some odd format called "MMF" that I've never heard of. I hope it's not some proprietary thing, me wants my Dr. Who ringtone...

...and on the subject of ringtones, among the ones available are...digitized farts, apparently (I didn't actually listen to those). WHY?!

I was able to put mp3s and midis on the phone. (now that I got it unlocked!! LOL)

Cool (now all I need to do is get a USB cable, or could I just email it to my gmail addy and get it on the phone?).

I just send it through my Bluetooth since it can connect with the Bluetooth in my laptop.

I picked up a new phone the other day - I may even turn this one on for a while. It's a Motorola Pebl. http://www.virginmobile.co.uk/vm/viewProduct.do?productId=A8559D69-64D6-4AC2-9FA2-F1F14645E572for details.

Yes, it's bright pink. I brought it out in front of Emo Boy and - as I had anticipated - he said it looked effeminate. I promptly used SPiffy's classic phrase about being secure in my sexuality, so it didn't bother me.

I think I worry that boy.

Mighty nice phones you got there, guys!
Here is a link for mine. I wish I could figure out how they got the clock on the front, mine is just a digital. Hmmm, time to break out the guide.

I found a program called Create Ringtone (http://www.create-ringtone.com/) that lets me send the result via text message (it'll do either WAV or MP3, let you select portions of a song and tells you what the final filesize will be). I was able to choose the theme music I wanted (I downloaded a torrent with about 90 versions of the Doctor Who theme...a few are excellent, most are good and there's Disco and Latin versions I'm scared to listen to). It looks like it'll also let you send any file that's on the computer.

Zum, I have that same phone in black. Great so far, although I am noticing a few quirks (it takes 2 tries of "initializing..." before my address book will actually come up).

I don't have any complaints. The T9 runs a little different from my old motorola, but I'll get used to it.

This new phone of mine is officially annoying. Three am this morning, I woke up. What was that noise? Must have imagined it. Five minutes later, nicely asleep, it sounded again.

The bugger wants you to know it's low on battery. Boy, does it want you to know. Will it shut up? Not unless you turn it off, and I didn't really want to get out of bed...

Rawr!

Today I got an LG VX8300 V-Cast music phone. I've barely started on setting up all the different ringtones for all the different people. So many choices. Woo hoo.

Well big brother upgraded all the work cells so now I have a nifty LG-VX5300 camera phone.

Since I have the text feature turned off I asked if they could just make it so that I could send pictures to my e-mail. I'm scared that if I have the text feature turned on again I'll start receiving all those spam text messages from a country and area code that don't exist. Yay, I pay a quarter per picture but I can e-mail my pics. Spearfish Canyon here I come!
