I'm going to have to find a new job. I work around my husbands schedule and he changed jobs which screwed up my job. They say they have nothing available in the times I need to work.

I really would prefer to work about 9pm to 2 am ish. I'd rather not go overnight all the way because I would need to sleep the next day, and who can do that with 2 kids around.

And I REALLY don't want to go traditional retail or food of ANYkind, although i will if I have too.

Dh has begged me not to do gas stations or liquor stores so I am giving him that.

Give me some ideas, if you have any LOL I'm looking at some hotels in the neighborhood.

Also ther eis always grocery stores, walmart, walgreens, the various fast food places and denny's.

Am I missing any?

Video store (wonder why I thought of that?), answering service (you know- like doctors have), stocking at Home Depot or similar, CVS.

That all I've got right now. Good luck.

Check around your area for call centers of any kind, answering services, 24 hour customer service, there may even be some insurance offices with 24 hour claim reporting. You could also look into civil service, like manning the desk at the police station, or 911 dispatch.

Call centers-as Banrion said, there are always 24 hour ones looking for someone to fill the spot. Plus you usually make more with the nighttime differential.

Why 9pm to 2am? Would say, 10am to 2pm be okay? That would open things up a lot.

I know you said you don't want food retail, but if you could find a place that needs help to handle the lunch time crowd...

Also, you might be able to find some clerical work during the middle of the day. Filing at a medical clinic, church secretary come to mind...

my husband works 10-12 hour days, usually from about 6 in the morning to 6 or later at night by the time he gets home. After that time we eat dinner, get the kids to bed and I'd love to have an hour with him before I had to go to work. That's wht 9-2am

I never thought of call centers...I had a friend who used to do security for one..I'll have to check those out.

Okay, I take it that you are home with the kids then....

I just thought of another possibility. Bakeries, or more specifically Panera Bread. My friend used to work there and bake bread all night...

Speaking of bakeries...

For a brief time I worked in a 24 hour doughnut shop at night. Now, I don't know about bread but making doughnuts is disgusting. Okay, not really making the doughnuts- that's not so bad. When I'd get home in the morning I'd put my clothes straight into the washing machine but it really didn't matter. The smell of doughnut grease permeates EVERYTHING. Your home, skin, clothes, hair- EVERYTHING! I couldn't eat doughnuts for years after that- the smell of them made me sick.

NightAngel-
I've noticed you've been changing your avatar a lot recently... I like this one you have now-the butterfly lady. Very... hmm, calming.
