I have been enjoying the nice warm weather for the past couple of weeks. Then this morning I wake up to ice sickles on my bed. Some idjit in Canada thinks that we are having to much of a good time down here and decided to cool us off, well he went a little overboard here. It was 40 deg this morning, and we have a freeze advisory for tonight and for the rest of the weekend (at night).

I only hope that all this cold weather doesn't kill all of the new plants, flowers, leaves, and buds that are just now really coming out. I swear I can feel the trees around here shiver when I touch them. My grandfather and I used to put these really big coffee filter looking things on top of the new plants to keep the frost from killing them.

I want the warm weather back, pleeeaase!!

Hey! Don't blame Canada! I was just starting to enjoy some nice weather when it started SNOWING again. We've gotten over an inch in the past 3 days. Before that, there was almost no snow left.

Our weatherman said that Canada was sending a cold front down, and that is what is making it cold. I just had to turn on the heat, hopefully for the last time until this winter coming.

If a person or place could actually send weather anywhere I'd send you guys some of the lovely tropical sunshine and breezes from here.

I've been going to the beach and the pool for a month or so. I'm tan and getting blond streaks already. :D

Snow in April! Makes me glad I moved from NW Ohio. I like to call snow in April the "Winter Blunderland". April up there just absolutely blows goats: Nothing but rain, snow, and tons of wind. The only sun you'll pretty much ever get to see is on TV.

I've always found it so amazing how Canada refuses to warm up. Do the people there like, absorb heat and then exhale frigid air??? There's actually a sci-fi creature called the "Syngenor" that does that.

It really snowed on my parade yesterday, although thank GOD it did not snow as much as I thought.

Around noon, the weatherman was suggesting a cold front bringing in 6-12 inches of snow to northern WI (think Superior), and 2-6 inches for northwest WI.

Then around 5:00, the next weatherman made a whole spiel, "Well it looks like we will not be getting as much snow as we thought......the cold weather front we were expecting this afternoon is taking longer than we thought to get here, and the system has not yet changed from rain to snow yet......." Thankfully, we barely got a trace of snow.

Unfortunately, it's only going to be at the freezing temperature until this weekend.

Good, because I took the dog for a walk tonight and the bones in my face ached from the wind chill. I thought the dog was going to become a popsicle with fur!

I woke up this afternoon, looked outside, and was not happy. Why is there snow in April? Boo. :( I suppose I live in Chicago-land, so I should be used to it, but still, boo.

Some idjit in Canada thinks that we are having to much of a good time down here and decided to cool us off, well he went a little overboard here.

I don't see what the problem is here! We just sit up here, on the top of the planet, and share our frosty love with those around us. All our snow comes from the heart. Besides, hot chocloate is too good to stop drinking for the summer, and to help warm up, you and your significant other can always "cuddle". :eyewaggle:

Besides, you guys had it coming. You give us Grey's Anatomy, 4 down football, (What? Your players are so bad you need that extra down?) and that garbage American Idol, yet you keep White Castle, the Pontiac GTO, and ESPN all to yourselves? What's up with that?!?

Spiffy, you can have White Castle for all I care. But as long as we can keep the Pontiac GTO and Corvettes, I don't care.

It was so nice the past couple days. Mid-upper 70s. Nice and sunny. Today it barely went over 50 and it poured rain. Now it's supposed to be in the 40s the next few days.

Spiffy- you REALLY aren't missing anything by not having White Castles.

Yuck.

White Castle = disaster for your intestines!

You'll be on the toilet for hours!

Yeah, but I hear that it tastes SOOOOO good after a night of trapezing around New Jersay while high as a kite.

Er, that's just what I've heard 'round the water cooler.

Fine, fine, replace "White Castle" with "delicious pork barbeque". We've got the best beef in the world, (Mmmmm...delicious barley-fed goodness) but it's impossible to get something like a pulled-pork sandwich or melt-off-the-bone ribs up here.

I keep reading the thread title and wondering what a balding Brit would have to do?

All I can tell you about that is if you ever find yourself in Kansas City visit the KC Masterpiece restaurant. YUM!

And if you ever find yourself (heaven forbid) in a little place called Warrensburg, MO stop in at Perry Foster's BBQ- best BBQ (and beans) ANYWHERE. Period.

I checked weather.com about 10 minutes before I left work (I have no windows, I keep my town bookmarked) and it said it was partly cloudy and 40 degrees. I got down to the door and it was a freakin' blizzard! But apparently only in the parking lot...it was nothing when I got out to the road...:wtf:

What about Jack In The Box and Taco Bell chalupas?!

Oh, btw, you guys can also keep "The Winner". :puke:

Oh YEAH!? Your football players are so bad you have to award a point for punting the football into the end zone? A rouge? What the hell is that? :p

Also, you guys gave us Gordon Lightfoot. :puke:
And Anne Murray.

As for American Idol, some of us are trying to do something about that. Why do you think Sanjay keeps getting so many votes?

Lastly, White Castle is nothing to pine for. I find Taco Bell to be better drunk food. At least it doesn't consistently make me ill.

I've seen cold blasts come down from there that were so strong so late in the season that the temp by default would rise 10 to 20 degrees over the course of a couple of days because the rays of the sun were so strong as that point.

I'm actually enjoying the cooler weather right now. I prefer the warmer weather, but this is nice.

Just wait... in about 3 months it'll be... "What is it like out there? 110 degrees?? 99% humidity?? Who lives like this?!?!"

I have a hard time with extremes in both directions. I can handle 30 degrees right now more than I can handle 110. (Whoda thunk I'm Phoenix child?)

Speaking of Phoenix I'm gonna be driving out there to take my nine year old to her mother's. I got a little taste of that dry heat when I was in Colorado a few summers ago. It was 90 out and my lips were dry and chapped like it was January! It'll be interesting to experience 110 degree heat with it that dry. Just remember one thing: Our troops have to work out in that kind of heat while being fully clothed in military fatigues and wearing over a hundred pounds of equipment! Now THAT has gotta suck.

Consider my plight... my landlord pays for my heat, and she decided that no one needs heat after April 1st...

It was around 20 degrees Fahrenheit in my corner of the world last night. The cold inspired this random thought: I might actually be warmer if I moved into my refrigerator.

Ummm.....WHICH country has what, 13 players on each side playing football? AND a deeper endzone?

Talk about needing extra help.........:D

Well, yeah, but CFL have about 52% fewer criminal records, and our "performance-enhancing" drug of choice is weed. :D :p

I just got hit by a Montreal style winter, it's freaking April and it's snowing. Roads were bad when I was coming home earlier today from school.
