  • Finally, a resolution is on the horizon

A while ago, I posted a thread about my grandfather's trigeminal neuralgia. It still hasn't gotten resolved, 3 months later. For some reason, my grandmother insists on not accepting help from anyone except Dr. Lackwit. My dad, at this point, has been so fed up with it that he took matters into his own hands.

Here in Junction, there happens to be a neurosurgeon who specializes in the surgery used to treat TN, and my mom happens to know the guy. Thus, my parents talked to the doctor, who said he can do the surgery no problem. My grandmother's not too happy about having to accept help from someone who's not Dr. Lackwit (my grandmother is one of those people who *hates* having to admit that she needs help from anybody, especially someone who she hasn't known for the last 20 years, specialist or not), but nevertheless they'll be coming here next Tuesday.

Re trigeminal neuralgia: I'm betting your gramps was like "OH HELL NO WOMAN." when she suggested to keep seeing Dr. Lackwit and got your dad in on it to keep the peace... 'cuz sometimes that way about things works.
Hope it goes well. :crosses fingers:

Update- Grandparents are here. They arrived, actually, on Monday. Yesterday, Grandfa had a doctor appointment that was more a 'meet the people who are going to be doing the surgery and go over what the procedure is' sort of thing. Today, he's at the hospital again to get all the pre-op tests out of the way (x-rays, blood tests, etc). Which means that the actual surgery is tomorrow.
