Angry I'm a REPUBLICAN!

This woman... This is the first time I've EVER been so speechless with a caller. So, for your pleasure, I typed out the call notes from yesterday and will be changing the names to protect the stupid. These notes are typed exactly as they were in the account save for the name being changed.

(BACKGROUND: This woman was from California. Call 1 was taken by a girl who sits right across the cubicle wall from me, call 2 was taken by me while my friend was still there, and call 3 was taken by another agent in our building.)

Call 1:
EW ci very very rude. Refused to all for any help bc
she was too angry about ahving to press one on the system
to get english. Said she is getting a colored pattern on
several channels. Powercycled & sent hit no go. Cust
refused tech b/c it was not her box it is our prob.
Cust also stated that no one was coming into her apt.
EW is very rude & won't let you help her (1:53pm est)

Call 2:
EW ci very rude// refused to confirm information for
several minutes// insisted tech did not need to come out for
colour patterns on one channel// informed that previous
tech had sent signal and sub had already powercycled twice
and that problem would now require tech// sub got irate and
insulted previous tech because of sub having to press 1
for english// sub said would call customer service to order
inhouse tech and disconnected call// 2:13pm est

Call 3:
EW ci keeps over talking about she's a republican and
christian and that ever since obama was elected we have
been messing w/her service and now she can't let her get
ahold of her news people and we are doing that to her. She
was offered t/c before outage was declared in her area. She
refused b/c she believes everyone is trying to break into
her home. Sub stated she will report us to fox news for
what we are doing. Sub does understand that outage would cause
service problems.

ETA: A glossary for come of the note terms: T/C = Trouble Call, CI = Called In, Sub = Subscriber

As somebody who's probably more conservative than the majority of people on this board, I'd like to say assholes come in all shapes, sizes and political affiliations.

What a lunatic.

Haha, at my cable center (charter) that I used to be employed at, it was CCI. So I managed to figure this out mostly on my own.

That's not even everything she said. At one point she told me she was probably the "Nicest, kindest person in the world," shortly after saying "I wrote a letter to the white house, to the president himSELF, telling him that what he's doing to old people's gonna come back to him eventually. And don't take that as a threat to the president, unless he thinks me telling him that what happens to everyone is gonna happen to him is a threat." Or asking me if I was the last girl she'd talked to, "Cause she didn't think english should be the national language!" (Again, this girl was sitting right across the wall from me.)

When she started ranting about how she didn't want us to send a tech, I looked at the notes, muted the phone and went "Shit... Why'd you send her to ME?!" To my friend, who just laughed and went "Oh god it's her?"

Reminds me of a certain quote from Tiny Toons from Montana Max. "You can't do this to me! I'm rich! I'm a republican!"

Call 3:
she's a republican and christian-snip- report us to fox news
you know, why am I not that surprised... there seems to be an odd correlation between the people who will use their religious and political affiliations to justify being an asshole and people who are proud to watch Fox news...

eta- I don't mean to imply that all republican christians who watch fox news are assholes... just that a lot of assholes who are christian and republican tend to watch fox news

That said, I'm an AP kind of guy

First, let me point out that I am a Republican, I watch Fox News, listen to Glenn Beck (and watch him on Fox News) and I voted for Bush twice...and if I could have afforded to and wasnt sick this weekend, I would have been at the D.C. Tea Party on the Mall last weekend.

That lady sounds completely bonkers. If she went to the Tea Party in D.C. over the weekend, they probably would have sent her home for being way too crazy to attend. They wouldnt have let her have any tea.
