I've noticed that my post count seems stuck at 83. I heard you get cookies for the 100th post. I like cookies. Not a big deal, but it struck me as a little odd.

Hmmm...if you post only in the "community" forum, your posts won't be added to your post count. Only posts in the heart of the site get counted towards your overall post total.
Oh, and that cookies thing? It was a rumour that I started just to be a jerk.

The post count thing is happening all over. I ran into it the other night just after I hit 1000 posts. I was stuck at 1010 for about an hour, while writing posts in all of the forums I visit.
And I just ran into a new guy that posted for the first time today, once in New Members, and then in Sucky Customers, and his post count is currently still 0.
This might be an issue if it keeps up, what with the upcoming culling.

If he posted in Sucky Customers, his post count should not still be zero.
Who is the member in question? I've seen this happen once before, and I'd like to check into it. I was able to fix the problem last time by running the task to fix post counts, but I'd like to have another look before I do it this time.Sometimes life is altered.

I don't have the time to really dig for the problem, and I'm not sure where to even begin. So I just ran the task to fix the post counts. Looks like he's where he should be now.Last edited by MadMike; 06-08-2007, 02:51 PM.Sometimes life is altered.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Mike will use more than post count to determine inactivity.Quoth Andara Bledin View Post

We are able to see when a member was last active. That means visiting the board, as well as posting.
I can't speak for Mike, but I think, if a member is still visiting, but isn't actively posting, they won't be cut. I think he's looking more for people who registered just so they could read the board one time, then never came back and never posted, as well as those who never actually validated their account.Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

Ree is correct. I don't look at just the post count, but also the "last posted" date. It will show the last time someone posted, even if they posted where posts don't count. If they never posted anything, the "Last posted" date will have no value in it.
And even then, I'm only getting rid of ones that haven't logged in in the past 90 days.
So, to some it up, I'm only getting rid of accounts that:
a) Never posted anything
b) Haven't logged in in the past 90 days.
Hope this clears things up.
