People probably think I'm being bitchy for posting a gigantic list of rules for the christmas card exchange. Frankly, I don't care. Last year's exchange was a disaster and a half behind the scenes, (and I'm only sort of complaining because I still had a lot of fun ) and to save myself some headaches *this* year, I am having to crack down on the rules.
Something as simple as providing complete and correct contact information the first time around, joining by the deadline (the signup period was at *least* 2 months long!), and then following through with actually sending the cards that you signed up to send was too much for some people. I was literally begging people to send me their missing email addresses, and it shouldn't come to that! (NOTE: This year is going quite nicely, thank you very much! )
We all complain about our customers and how stupid they are for not reading signs, receipts, the bills and statements that are mailed to them, etc. However, many of us are JUST as guilty of "not reading the signs", i.e. the rules and following them properly.
Frankly, I think if someone signs up but can't be arsed to read and follow the rules, they don't belong here anyway. I don't care that there are a lot of them- every single one exists because some chuckle head did something dumb or rude and made it necessary.
That's just my (long winded) opinion, though.
