I see references in threads to Morons in Management but I can't find that section. Where is it hidden? Sorry if it's obvious and I'm being a doofus.

Not being a doofus at all. It's hidden until your membership is complete. It's a very small way to help protect people in case they vent too accurately about their employers or colleagues and can be identified. As security measures go, it's fairly light, but it's a layer of protection.
Of course the best protection is to obfuscate what you're posting so it's reasonably obvious yet not identifying enough to allow someone to dismiss you.

Basically, what raps is saying is...
-Don't mention your company's name ANYWHERE in your post. Even if you just say "It's the store where the company's shirt is <colour>" it's not nearly as identifiable.
-If you don't get a cultural concept, ASK.
-Don't flat-out ask someone "do you work at <store>?" unless you do it over PM.The best professors are mad scientists! -Zoom
Now queen of USSR-Land...

I'd go a step further with that advice: if you plan to post in either "Morons In Management" or "Cursing Out Coworkers" then it's probably best not to mention the name of the company in any of your other posts either. I may just be imagining things, but it seems like the most likely way for them to see your post in a hidden forum is to find you here first. If, for example, someone at Busy Bee Roofing searches Google for their name and turns up one of your posts that mentions the name, they might well be curious what else you've said. And if they find out about the existence of the hidden forums and register so as to be able to read them, it won't help that your posts there call it "A home repair service with an insect logo."Last edited by HYHYBT; 03-16-2010, 04:27 PM.Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.

Generally speaking, from the admin side we just give advice to obfuscate. If something's blatantly too descriptive we'll hide it and talk to the person involved. We're not going to risk the site, and we'll do what we can to protect the board members involved.
If you work for a McD's, for example, there's often no problem in saying that you work at one as long as you don't give the address and other blatantly identifying information - a bit hard to identify one starling from the flock. It's a choice for the individual member.
