Last couple of times I've tried to edit my post, the circle thing by the "Save" button kept going round and round for a very long time and it never saved the edited post.

Yes, that issue has been brought to our attention before.
(Here's a link to the OP for this same issue. It's a good idea to try a search before posting a site bug, just in case a quick solution can already be found in the forum. ~Ree)
A fix is being worked on, but unfortunately, it's rather low on a long "to do" list.

In the meantime, where you try to edit, and it just hangs in place, simply click on the "Go Advanced" button, and save it that way. The "go advanced" section doesn't suffer from this problem.
