RCMP arrests 2 in alleged terror plot to derail passenger train

They were "supported" by al-Qaeda, whatever that means. One suspect is 30, one is 35 -- well beyond the point where it can be argued they are easily swayed young people. The targeted train was running from New York to Toronto and the attack was planned for the Canadian side of the border.

You'd be surprised at how many terrorist plots have Canadian locations as targets. Most of them are uncovered well in advance and most don't make the news.

Yup, after 9-11 there was as much distrust towards muslims as in the states. Over the decade however the RCMP worked with local law enforcement and the muslim community to earn no small measure of trust between them. IT was that effort that helped prevent this attack.
