Frederik Pohl, one the 20th century's finest science fiction authors, died today. He was a legendary writer and editor, and a pillar of the SF community. His amazing imagination, attention to detail, and sharp observance of human nature made for a unique style. He was one of my personal favorites. Thank you Frederik Pohl. Just...thanks.

btw, if you are ever in a real jam memory-wise, like just a vague plot, or a character's name, the Usenet group "rec.arts.sf.written" is a great place to turn. That hivemind has worked some real miracles for me over the years.
