  • When Nature Runs Out of Paint

    http://www.boredpanda.com/albino-animals/

Amazing photographs of both true albinos and white coated/skinned animals. Who would have ever pictured an all-white Humpback Whale, ehe?

Wow! Some of those animals are so striking! A white crow is just...weird.

I've seen white peacocks and white tigers before. Love the lion picture, how they're nearly mirroring each other's pose!

Love the albino humpback whale. It's so...white!

There's an albino duck here at a nearby pond. I need to get out there with a camera that has decent zoom sometime to grab a pic (it's been camera shy so far).

Some of the ones listed as "albinos" don't have reddish/pinkish eyes. I thought that was part and parcel with albinism...? I could be wrong -- I have seen white squirrels up in North Carolina (they're rare enough to be considered good luck) which are NOT albinos, just all-white fur with otherwise standard-issue skin and eyes.

Has anyone seen an albino cockroach? I swear I saw a white roach. We had been having problems with roaches so I squashed it out of reflex before I thought to get a picture.

Since white is the presence of ALL colors..shouldn't the title be "When nature has too much color (or paint)?"

It depends whether you're talking about additive colour (light) or subtractive colour (paint, ink).

The proper terminology is colour (light) or pigment (material).
