  • missing Dr. Who episodes... FOUND

If you're a Whovian, you'll know that a large number of past episodes of the show were lost for various reasons; destroyed by the BBC inadvertently or deliberately... Now, in Ethiopia of all places, most of the missing episodes have been found.

    *Jumps around in joy*

This is awesome news! Hopefully the BBC gets the episodes remastered and released on DVD soon.

If they do, then I know what I want for Christmas.

Now, how long would it take to watch 50 years (or however many seasons it's been on) of Dr. Who?

i am sorry but i don't believe it. we have been burned too many times before. i will be glad if it pans out, but for now... sorry. do a search for FMA_fanatics thread some time back about a similar story.
Lister: This is Crazy. Why are we talking about going to bed with Wilma Flintstone?
Cat: You're right. We're Nuts! This is an insane conversation....
Lister: She'll never leave Fred and we know it.

DaDairyDruid is referring to this thread.

I'm going to have to be skeptical with him on this one too. I fear this one will end in a hoax as well. If they've really been found, then they'd show the fans the pictures.

And..um..getting your news source from a tabloid? Doubly dubious.

Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
          DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

Well, that original article, back in June, said that the episodes might be forthcoming in November. Well, November is still approaching.

Both the Mirror and the Telegraph are reporting it. Seems real to me.

We'll believe it when the BBC themselves makes the announcement. Until then, newp.

Well there is this from the Radio Times.

"They are believed to originate from a haul discovered in Africa and have been digitally remastered for sale, although exact details remain sketchy." I quote from the article.

Edit: BBC link Announcement to be made later this week from BBC Worldwide where they are expected to confirm finding missing episodes

It does indeed look the real thing. Quite what and how many remains to be seen. I read an article that said the BBC were planning to release them on iTunes.

It looks as though they have found "some" missing episodes, so maybe not all of them.

Just as long as we get one complete Troughton story! Pleeeease!

There's The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Dominators, The Mind Robbers, The Seeds of Death and The War Games. Quite a few complete stories there. It would be nice if they'd release them though. I know Netflix has Tomb of the Cybermen.

Edit: Just checked and they seem to have the above titles mentioned. DVD only, no streaming. Shame.

Plus they are supposed to be releasing the web of death and the abominable snowmen with animated episodes aren't they?
