Sam Berns, a 17 year old who was diagnosed with Progeria (a genetic condition that causes rapid aging) has passed away.
His life was documented in an HBO documentary that aired last year called "Life According To Sam" in which his parents, both researchers who started the Progeria Research Foundation described the condition and their quest for a potential cure.
The average life span for a child with this condition is around 13 years. But Sam didn't let that worry him - he lived his life as normally as he could with the time he was given.
Rest well, young man.
